The sooner the folks at NVAccess bite the bullet and drop the use of the term "gestures" for keyboard shortcuts, or command methods, the better.

Everyone in the IT world thinks of gestures as related to touch devices and touching, but that's not what it means under NVDA.

Actually, as long as you don't use trigger, you can have as many profile
as you want.
Eatch profile will need to have a unique name though.

You don't need an add-on.  That feature is a convenience feature, but all

you need do is press f6 and you will move to the address bar with the

address in it.  You will hear a lot of unnecessary speech if you just let

the screen-reader read.  Use read current line and the address will be read.

Use control c, the standard copy command, to copy it to the clipboard.

Use shift f6 to return to the page.

This procedure is standard for all the popular Windows browsers I've used.

The enhancement for Mozilla products has many abilities that are real

conveniences and time savers.  This one is a convenience, but a minor one.

You will be able to use my method with almost as much efficiency as using

that feature.

No it doesn't, not at all.
My technique was all keyboard related.

Hi,
is it possible to run two different instances for the same program with different profiles?
From what I've gathered so far, if you activate a profile manually it's used for the whole pc. Or am I  wrong?

Re: NVDA 2020.3 Beta 4 now available

Louise Pfau

Hi.  I've installed the beta.  I inadvertently overwrote my existing copy.  I have a few questions, and have come across a few minor problems.  I've placed them below my name.

Thanks,

Louise
1.  I noticed that focus mode is not exited when ESCAPE is pressed.  The most recent example of this is the edit fields in the groups.io web interface.

2.  NVDA reads words twice while navigating by word when they precede a punctuation mark.

3.  When I was typing this message in the groups.io interface, a separator line appeared when I inserted a blank line in the text.  At the location of the blank line, NVDA would read the previous line of text.  When I pressed ALT+TAB to go to a different window, then navigated back to the message, the text appeared correctly.

4.  What does the update to the espeak-ng synthesizer do?

Tomorrow I will try and locate it and see what and who it is and let you know.
I am not sure if it has a windows ten driver or not,
but you are welcome to it if you like.
Talk tomorrow,

Almost all Braille displays work with NVDA. You may have to install the manufacturer's driver. This is all covered on the NVDEA website.

Since using NVDA with a Braille Display falls into permissible discussion on the main group, I wanted to make sure that there were "eyes on" here in the main group.

I did not copy and paste since everything is all laid out in the message linked to above. Responses are appropriate here on the main group, too.

One thing Groups.io doesn't support is moving a topic from a subgroup to a main group or vice versa, and I wish they did, as these things happen.

If you look at emulated keys, you may find something useful to you.

NVDA+n, p, n.
Then go down to the category: Emulated system keyboard keys.
Expand that with right arrow.
Then press alt+a to add a new emulation.
It will ask you to enter the key you want to emulate. In your case you can press the key sequence for control+end, or even nvda+control+end, whatever that four key sequence is for you.
The key you entered will become a new option in the category. Move to it if you aren't already there, then press alt+a to add a gesture for it.
You can then enter a gesture to activate that key, just like any other custom gesture mapping.
