Re: NVDA 2020.3 Beta 4 now available
Quentin Christensen
Hi Louise,
Replying in the groups.io web editor to test your issues. Firstly, if you installed the beta and didn't intend to, you can either leave it, and it will update to the release candidate(s) as available. Or you can download NVDA 2020.2 again from https://www.nvaccess.org/download/ and install it. The installer will advise that you are installing an older version and warn you against that. I don't think there should be any problem doing that. To your questions: 1) I'm guessing you can't press escape to go to Browse mode when you are in the editor to write your message? I found in the subject title I could press escape to go to browse mode and enter to go back to focus mode. In the editor, you'll notice NVDA reports "Application". The editor is marked up as an ARIA application - basically it wants to be treated more like a desktop app, so some keys get treated differently. You can still change from browse to focus mode and back using NVDA+SPACEBAR. 2) Reading words twice when they have punctuation at the end. Is that using Chrome? I found in Firefox moving by word skips over punctuation (ie it always jumps to the start of the next word) but in Chrome and other places, the focus moves from the start of the word to in between the word and the punctuation. In Chrome it then reads the word again. I couldn't find an issue for this so I've created one: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/11727 3) I couldn't replicate this, but it might be something with groups.io maybe? Kind regards Quentin.

a windows system you can use nvda on it though you will need an admin to install it, not sure. If this is not a windows vm though, you will have to use orca or something. To be honest, what is the vm used for. If its the company office and such, it may be easier to get on the company's office at home program, and spend the cash on a pro plus licence for office and installing it. Of course that may mean having different profiles or email clients for home and work or whatever, but you should be then able to access the resources of company files yourself. Finally, your company could just give you a locked down laptop or workstation and you could have nvda on that and handle everything that way. My brother works for an enginiering company here. Everything is done with a personal work laptop, and virtual machines on that. Everyone gets 100gb of google storage for work related stuff including mail database backups. I have an aunt that did everything off an ms remote session and it did have audio feedback. If the company use custom software then thats different, but it may simply be easier to access the server with the files and use an office on your system for work.

Re: Backup files with NVDA
Already provided, for Macrium Reflect, in my previous post. That's what a "full system image" is - everything including the operating system part and all user accounts and their data.

Re: Backup files with NVDA
This question gets asked again, and again, and again on both this group and the Windows 10 for Screen Reader Users Group, and the answers never change.
I have written a tutorial on using Macrium Reflect to take full system image backups: Using Macrium Reflect Free with a Screen Reader Windows 10 includes a File History utility built-in for user data backups, and it's fully accessible, but it does not take full system images. Searching the NVDA Group Archive on system image backup will return scads of discussions regarding backing up, as will Searching the Windows 10 for Screen Reader Users Group Archive and there's plenty on the JAWS group, too. Members really need to start searching archives before asking questions. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 It’s hard waking up and realizing it’s not always black and white. ~ Kelley Boorn

Re: Windows 10 clipboard manager
Hi,

This is clipboard history, not exactly a clipboard manager to deal with formatting and such. As for NVDA, try with Windows 10 App Essentials add-on installed (lately I've become this add-on's salesman...). As for JAWS, if using Widows 10 May 2020 Update (or later), you'll need most recent JAWS 2019 release, or better yet, JAWS 2020 for better functionality and compatibility. Cheers, Joseph

But do you want to back up only files such as documents, music, etc. or do you want to back up everything, including the files that make up the operating system so you can restore the operating system. One kind of backup, only files such as documents, music, etc. can be done very differently than a full backup or image.

Hi list members, after usining nvda, I was able to perform a scan using Ccleaner but the question that I have is what do I do in order to delete those items that were listed that needed to be cleaned in order to have more disk space. The question is how do I do this using nvda? Thank you for any information that you might have as it relates to this question.

Hi Marten Yes I am using Windows clipboard manager by pressing the winkey plus V the problem is that the navigation there is not consistent so most of the time I cannot navigate through the least of the clipboard items . Me and some blind friends tested this and we have found the navigation there is very difficult and not always we succeed 2 navigate between the copied elements if you have any suggestions to how to do that I would gladly and willing to take any advice if there anything I am missing out

How are you using the clipboardmanager now?> With what hotkeys? There is a clipboard manager built in to windows, but are you using that manager? You can access the clipboardmanager of windows by pressing win-v and this is good accessible. Probabley you have to turn on this manager. Press win-i and type clipboard and tab around. Eilana Benish
Hello everybody it is very important to have clipboard manager on windows 10 But unfortunately the navigation then waiver NVDA is not always consistent and therefore makes the use of the clipboard manager very inaccessible . I hope that soon Microsoft or NVD a will fix this issue and if so please let me know Also I have tried searching on the web for accessible program for clipboard manager and did not find anything that can be totally accessible with NVDA. So if any of you knows software for Managing clipboard that is iaccessible with NBA I would very much like to know thanks in advance and keep it safe
