Keyboard shortcuts for activating configuration profiles?
Luke Robinett
Hey gang. I’ve browsed through the documentation and didn’t find anything on this, but it may be in there and I just missed it. If so, feel free to direct me to the appropriate section. I was wondering if there are keyboard shortcuts that would allow me to quickly switch between different configuration profiles without having to go to the configuration profile dialog box. I’m thinking something like a combination of modifier keys followed by the numbers one through zero which would correspond to profiles one through 10, for example. If this doesn’t exist, would there be brought enough interest in such a feature that I could add a feature request to the GitHub repo? Thanks.

Re: NVDA With Task Manager
Martin O'Sullivan
Sorry should have mentioned that I have tried 3 synths, and they were all the same.
I turned the speech viewer tool on , and the sited person was able to see that most of the time that the computer would move the cursor, and then NVDA would output speech after a delay.
I went into windows settings and gave the following files high performance on the Graphics performance settings.
nvda.exe nvda_eoaProxy.exe nvda_noUIAccess.exe nvda_slave.exe nvda_uiAccess.exe
If NVDA is not running the performance of the computer is not much different. That is the computer seems to perform ok, however there is a delay from NVDA.
And here is another problem, which seems to me to be related.
Every so often NVDA will read the previous line and it will only read the line which I am on correctly once I actually highlight that line.
There is no other way of getting it to read the line, it just will not read that text. Like never and I mean never just will not read it. It sees the text in one line as another. This is very hard to explain, However, if you had one line which had the word cat, and another line which had the word dog, Nvda would read the line which said cat, then you would arrow down to the line with the word dog, and nvda would say cat. This problem is intermittent. .
I just need it to go faster.

And if you have tried a different synthesizer, how does Narrator perform or a JAWS demo? We have no information at this point confirming that the problem is with NVDA or something else.

Also re spell check and reading the word in context - it depends on the version of Word. In Office 2016 from memory, the easiest way to read the current word in context was to press escape - which, since F7 took you to the next spelling error, and escape then closed it taking you back to the document at that point, it would take you to the spelling error. In Office 365, it does not read the misspelt word in context when you open spell check (actually now spell check opens a summary with the number of errors - I'm not sure if there is a setting to toggle that? I can't see one). Another option for spell check in Word is you can press alt+f7 which doesn't use a spelling pane, but instead jumps to the next error and opens the context menu to the first suggestion. It only reads the misspelt word, not the context, and if you want to read the context, you'll need to press alt to close the menu and read it. It's the same as moving to the misspelt word in the text, pressing the applications key to open the context menu which automatically goes to spelling. Quentin.
