In file explorer, after doing file or folder selection with shift up or down arrow, if I press num 5 key, it will only report the last item being selected.

After reading the user menu, it seemed that there is no way to report what are the items being selected?

If you are in the right place, browse mode should be on.  Make sure you are actually in the blank page.  Use f6 as probably the fastest way to get there.  I have my browsers open to a blank page and if I am in the right place, browse mode is active and the descriptions work as you describe.

If you open a blank new tab with control n, you are placed on the address bar, not in the actual page.

I'm lucky in that I found a local independent computer repairer and recycler who have been in business for a long time. So far, they've been friendly, knowledgeable, and quite fair on pricing.

Hi.  I can't find the navigation button that was mentioned, but the information in the overflow area was shown when I pressed the LEFT ARROW.  With regard to reliable computer companies, I've managed to find a local independent company that is willing to work with adaptive technology, and make sure that it's working correctly before releasing the computer.

You're right. I guess my friend thought this guy would do a great job
fixing her computer. She and her husband don't live close to a place
like Best Buys. They have to drive clear out of town to a place like
that. She knows one other person who might be able to fix her computer
but he doesn't want to go to her house because of the Corona virus.

For the over flow to show. After minimizing to desktop, tab to Navigation button and hit the space bar. That will make all in the list show there icons.
Without doing that you only get the short list of main devices.

I had my friend go into narrator to see if she had NVDA in her downloads
folder. She has NVDA 2019.2 but now she can't update it. For some
strange reason she's not able to go into the NVDA menu by hitting insert
N. I tried the caps lock and the other key but nothing worked. I think
the man who fixed her computer didn't configure it correctly.


Any suggestions as to how she can get into the NVDA menu?
