Right. I need that info looked up so (I can look up names hence why I'm using netlogger. Excel (I don't have office anyway) will not interface with qrz or eqsl.
So you did confirm nvda tab will not work like I did eh? Ok, though I was going crazy.
Take care

I was able to enter data wit some clumsiness and safe it in stand
alone mode. The file is saved in log format and by default that
format opens in Notepad Plus Plus on my system. Interestingly
enough, when I viewed it in Notepad Plus Plus, everything showed up
as it should -with delimiters using the vertical bar symbol. Using
Net Logger itself, I could not get what I wrote to read in any other
manner other than using tab and shift tab or after data had been
enter I use left/right arrow keys to move from columns that already
contained data and the information would read, but there was no way
of reading the information--in particular--callsigns
alpha-numerically.
Actually, if you use Microsoft Excel and set up a spreadsheet in
data format, you get better results. NVDA reads all the columns if
column header mode is turned on and you can edit and enter data
easily. This takes some ability to design database/spreadsheets, but
for a simple thing like a callsign entry system, where formulas are
not required nor any fancy accounting knowledge, this isn't really
that hard.

Hi Steve,
I believe that one by one callsigns are for special events and thus
you don't see them often.
I can't think of an example right now, but I think some of the light
house on the air callsigns may have been one by one such as W1B or
W4C.

I'm sorry I can't help with a solution, but want to offer the
highest praise for this if one is not forthcoming.
The only way that developers can fix issues is if they are
reported via the avenue they use to track them, and for NVDA
that's GitHub on the page, https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues,
once you've set yourself with a GitHub account and access to the
NVAccess project.
And if anyone wants it, I have MS-Word form template for both
creating an issue, that you can fill out, unprotect it, and then
copy and paste into the GitHub page rather than dealing with the
long issue edit box, which can be somewhat tricky to navigate.

Iv'e already given that url 3 times. It is a clickable link that should click in almost any email client. It really is a wonderful piece of software, Oh, and it's free. I need to talk to the developer though about some accessibility issues, such as double clicking a row does not allow me to edit it, but over all it is 99 percent accessible.
If you have any questions about netlogger please email me off list.

Blessings all, I'm off to bed. I have a 3 hour training to do tomorrow.

To read the calls, I up and down arrow but I cannot move left

yields blank blank blank. In fact object mode yields nothing at
least in the net logger window.

And if anyone wants it, I have MS-Word form template creating an issue/bug report, that you can fill out, unprotect it, and then copy and paste into the GitHub page rather than dealing with the long issue edit box, which can be somewhat tricky to navigate. --

No, not at all. The net logger window is fairly simple to use, and i plan to set up an online net to test with. Just go into the split button in object nav and you can change a bunch of stuff there. I dunno when it will get tone as I have a lot on my plate but I either by myself or with my partner might do a podcast on net logger.

NVDA 2020.3: Error working with Table
Hi all
Today, I and my wife worked on a table in
Microsoft Office
Word 2019 and NVDA. Sounds like NVDA didn't recognize the table I
insert. While
caret in a cell, then I press Ctrl+Alt+arrow, NVDA says something
like I'm not
in a table.
I restarted NVDA, restarted Word, and restarted
NVDA with
all add-on disabled, and still have this problem on laptops of my
wife and
mine.
Both are using Windows 10 Home single language
64-bit,
version 2004, NVDA 2020.3.
I don't know the reason. I'm going to create
issue for this if no way to solve. Please
help me if you could.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Cannot get past, "please register this," when launching NVDA!
The please register this must refer to a synthessizer that your NVDA is using. If you get that message and the command NVDA key control r pressed three times rapidly, You may hold control and nvda key and type r quickly three times, doesn't restore NVDA to its defaults so the default synthesizer can run, then you may have to delete something else, such as your synthesizer or your NVDA settings so it will start using defaults.

You may want to try using the com registration tool found under the nvda tools menu Or the installation directory of nvda if that is not possible

Did you uninstall all of the add ons? Sounds like a synth that never got uninstalled in the mix. I forgot where the add ons folder is, but completely uninstall, remove the add ons and settings folders for nvda, restart, launch narrator and find and launch the nvda installer.

Re: NVDA misbehaving after a Windows Update and NVDA Update
I know you've said you already did this, but, I would suggest downloading a fresh copy of the NVDA 2020.3 installer, uninstalling NVDA, restarting your machine, then reinstalling NVDA with the fresh installer. Don't skip the restart step and do it between uninstalling and reinstalling. --

Well regardless, can a special expression be written to take these? With so many variations, I'm guessing the answer is no. I am not a coder, but again I'll play with this during tomorrow digital net and see.
Blessings to all and thanks everyone, I mean it. Thanks. Hopefully a solution like the bns can be come up with but in the interim, at least I can do something.

No I am not. The errors might be on my part. Iv'e been using computers for close to 30 years, but I'm probably overthinking this. I'll practice tonight, if the net I'm going to happens, I mean it will happen, but if I'm off. I want my reports to look professional and I want someone to take it if let's say I have to go use the little ham shack room, or my computer reboots, or if I die, what ever the case might be, plus the software over all is good. I might do a demo of netlogger for my podcast and show the good, the very good, the bad and the ugly.
Anyway, I hope one day an add on for ham calls can be come up with in case we cannot use notepad, or we are reading on on a site and cannot go character by character for some reason. I'd love it for fluency. Ke7zum verses k e 7 z u m.
Shameless plug, I will be running that net on Tuesday, if you want to listen, let me knot privately and I'll give you all the info.
I'll run some tests tomorrow or Monday.

Hi Sara,
Using JAWS, there was a setting to 'spell
alpha numeric expressions.' NVDA does not
have this option. What I do when running
nets is to highlight the callsign and then
use the keypad 5 key to read the callsign
and if I can't tell what the call is
initially, I double punch the 5 key to have
the expression spelled alpha numerically as
in alpha alpha 2 victor Mike.

calls option where it would read
those such as ke7zum. Is there such
a thing for nvda? Or can an option
be thought of, an add on that could
be turned on and off at will to
allow for such? I know this won't
happen by the 27th when I'm due to

I'm using the ibm tts

this as well. I can't code or I
would find a way to do this myself.
The thing that makes
this harder is not all call signs
are 2 by 3 like mine. Some are a 1
by 1, or a 1 by 2. I've even seen
some 2 by 2 calls.
Thanks all.

A one by one call sounds like it was
probably a special event call.

Just so happens I'm NCS for tomorrow's BHDN, so you can ride

the only thing that works correctly with it. It doesn't matter
whether you type the callsign in upper- or lower-case. It can
definitely be done one-handed.
In your message (see below) you said you've encountered a
one-by-one call. Wow, that must've been a very special vanity
call. I have never heard of a one by one ham call in over fifty
years of hamming, but there's always something new goin' on
somewhere. LOL.

Like I said, this program does not have edit

their

I can try this Saturday when I practice
logging for the Saturday morning digital net, that is,
if I'm alert enough to practice. By the way you do have
to be a ham to dl the software, so can the hams please
help? I really don't want to find another piece of
software as let's say my computer reboots, I can have
someone take over while I get up and running, so long as
they have the pw to log.
Blessings all, I'm off to bed. I have a 3
hour training to do tomorrow.

Hi Sara,
Try one more thing and if it doesn't work, then find
another program. Once in a while, when all else fails,
highlight the whole edit field and then (laptop
equivalent) press the read line keystroke twice quickly.
With desktop, that is insert + up arrow.

It does not. You type in the sign
and hit enter. If I need to edit a call, good
luck, as that part is hard to do so I'd better
get it right.
To read the calls, I up and down
arrow but I cannot move left and right to read
the characters and hitting nvda left and right
yields blank blank blank. In fact object mode
yields nothing at least in the net logger
window.

Hi
Sara,
Does this net logger have an edit field for each
item? If so, then either try using screen
review or object navigation. I used to use an
old ham database program years ago and using
NVDA, if you moved to the edit field and then
switched to object navigation, highlighted the
callsign and then used the 5 key you could
usually get it to work. If not try using screen
review--a bit clumsy, but it may also work.
