I posted two or three issues already over the past several years and nothing has been done about adding a graphics labeler or an object labeler or a frames manager to NVDA for making an ad on to do so. I think that NVDA should start to get away from scripting, and start using artificial intelligence and neural engine technology such as is used in the new voiceover for iOS 14. That way NVDA could start to read more things automatically and would rely less on scripting which can easily break when an application version changes The only other screen meter that I know of which used a primitive kind of artificial intelligence to read the screen in which not which did not rely on scripts was ASAP, automatic screen access program for Microsoft DOS made by micro talk. that screen reader was discontinued at around the year 2000 because windows took over. But for its time it was the best screen reader for DOS, or the disk operating system operating system which was available and which was ever made. I hope soon that somebody will at least make an ad on for NVDA which will use the free tensorflow neural Engine technology to allow NVDA to intelligently read the screen even if buttons and other controls may not be accessible in the standard way using standard accessibility measures. Voiceover for iOS can do this even if buttons and other objects are directly drawn onto the screen it can still identify them using artificial intelligence technology. It is amazing! I hope NVDA could do something similar in the future.

I Can No longer Install NVDA On My computer
Hello:
I am now finding it impossible to install the NVDA screen reader on my computer. I installed the latest version of the program when I was prompted to do that after it was released. But unfortunately, the program appeared not to be working very well, so I decided to remove it and re-install it. But the re-installation was unsuccessful. Each time I tried, I was given an error message saying that the installation of NVDA failed. I even attempted re-installing an older version, but I got the same error message. In the course of installation, I'm made to understand that AdOns will be uninstalled, and I checked the box saying that I understand that. I use a Windows7-32 coomputer. So, what exactly has gone wrong. Hope to get some help. I am Ibrahim Ajayi.

Yes, Robert Doc Wright godfearer, it works for me too, but only at the beginning of a working day. After some hours I don't know why I always have the problem that the window is not immediatly opened but I have to use the space bar to confirm. I can add also that in the same moment I can't open directly the Window using the combination "window + number", I also cannot stop the voice using the CTRL key. So navigation between windows becomes a bit uncomfrotable. Tha'ts all. Of course ALT Tab works, but it is not the faster way to reach immediatly the window you want, especially when a lot of windows of different programs are opened. The best way is Windows key plus a number. Thanks again for any suggestion.

log submission module
Hi joseph. Wander if we have logs for various events if there should be some addon to handle submition of logs to the appropriate place depending on what the issue is about. I wander if you could do this and things like bug reports for not just nvda but other things from an app that interfaces with github. Its just a thought. If I have a problem, and its got a log I will obviously try to submit the log to the appropriate person or github but what if I don't know where to put it. I will then submit the log via a dropbox link here because I have no idea. Wander if there can or is some sort of program to do this allready to a central location that could interface with github since thats where everything is. I have no doubt one actually exists but I have never actively searched for this.

First, I thank all for their contributions in checking what happens to them. I did the same, and did not get a captcha. I have never figured out how sites that don't use them on each and every log in, and there are many, decide when they're going to throw one up. There's got to be some mystery criteria.
All of the above being said, Gene is correct that Captchas never have been, and never will be, what the NVDA Group is about. What was going on is there was a mixture of numbers and letters--this is all fine but some of the letters are upper case and some are lower case and there is no way to tell them apart in the audio challenge. This isn't accessible at all. If this continues, I'll have no choice except to cancel my PayPal account. I hope nvda has another way for us to donate.

I get this sometimes, but not very often. They fix is to shut down nvda and then do a restart. That fixes it every time. What causes this is anyone's guess.

It's fine to ask for help and indicate that you have a log or log segment available for review to anyone who requests it. This happens quite often on my Win 10 20h2 system. All the normal keys that work with NVDA stop working. Listed here is the error messages in the nvda log.

buttons for the menus they definitely aren't expanding. Also, it seems like it's in application mode when I open it in Brave, so not a virtual buffer-like situation, more of a desktop app-like thing.

Once yu are in options, turn off browse mode NVDA key space. If you don't, you can't see the list of categories.

Shift tab three times to the list. You can down arrow through the categories. Move to the one you want, then tab around to see what settings you can change. In this case, you want home. You may stay in forms mode or return to browse mode when you tab. If you have questions about how to work with the interface for choices about home content, let us know. Gene

Sorry for all the questions today. How do you get to the preferences in the latest version of firefox? It says to go to the tthree dots in the right hand corner but of course I can't get there.
