Hi Rowen,
What version of Word are you using? When you get to the toolbar, does pressing f6 cycle you to the document?
Otherwise, try the alt key or the escape key.

Oh, I just tested out.

The problem that I mentioned here, after I disabled the notepad++ addon, the problem disappeared, i.e. search is done normally and will not speak no more search in this direction. How can I inform the author about this issue? I remembered that I have tried posting another issue to the github issue page, and seemed no feedback from author. William 威 於 17/11/2020 21:18 寫道:

NVDA 2020 and Papenmeier new models
Viny
Hello, everyone.
I have two braille dispplays Braillex Trio of Papenmeier. With nvda 2020, the braille integrated keyboard of the trio doesn't works. Only the keyborard; the braille output works very fine. Even the commands I defined myself works. In the nvda's log in debbug level, the entries with the braille keyboard are not related. Do you know if someone in the dev team of nvda work on this problem?

Well, Notepad Plus Plus finally updated on my computers. I do not see the issue described in the posts in this thread. There is no change when I do a search using the Control + F keystroke. I am taken to the first instance of a result and pressing F3 takes me to the next instance and so on.

Rowen Cary
Hi, Pranav,
It is true, not limited to the first two, it may be the first three or more, but there is always a chance to become what I said. When I select "Edit Comment", the normal situation should be to display the edit field of the comment, but my current situation is that NVDA only reports the "Toolbar"

Re: BluetoothAudio addon
Had to resort to a web search for my own sanity, and Audio Ducking does indeed exist:
Audio Ducking ModeKey: NVDA+shift+d On Windows 8 and above, this option allows you to choose if NVDA should lower the volume of other applications while NVDA is speaking, or all the time while NVDA is running.
This option is only available if NVDA has been installed. It is not possible to support audio ducking for portable and temporary copies of NVDA. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 If you think that you can think about a thing, inextricably attached to something else, without thinking of the thing it is attached to, then you have a legal mind. ~ Thomas Reed Powell

Re: BluetoothAudio addon
Do you have audio ducking turned on in NVDA? That may be the issue. Now, having said that, I'll be darned if I can find that setting, and I could swear it exists, but maybe I'm conflating something from JAWS.
If that exists, and you find it and changing it doesn't fix anything, consider using the Silenzio utility instead of the add-on. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 If you think that you can think about a thing, inextricably attached to something else, without thinking of the thing it is attached to, then you have a legal mind. ~ Thomas Reed Powell

BluetoothAudio addon
Eilana Benish
Hello everyone we have noticed that when using the BluetoothAudio addon, the sound from other devices becomes low and after one minute more or less , the sound turns to be very high . this issue occurs even when NVDA is on speech mode off. after disabling the BluetoothAudio addon, this issue of the sound being very low and then returns to be very high is gone. so, I would like to ask if there is anything that can be done about this because this add on is very very important thanks in advance -- ובכבוד רב | Sincerely, אילנה בניש מורשה נגישות שירות 2200 | Eilana Benish, service Accessibility authorized (2200) 📱 +972-50-7100367 | 📧 benish.ilana@...

Hi Rowen,
Are you saying that the approach I mentioned in my message only works for the first 2 comments?
Try hitting f6 to return to the document and then repeat the process.

Focusing on Offscreen Objects
kelby carlson
I'm using an application that, for whatever reason, I can only get around with object navigation. I'm having a problem that when I focus on certain navigator objects, NVDA reports them as offscreen and activating them does nothing. Maximizing the window doesn't seem to help, and I haven't encountered this anywhere else.

Re: Use of Headings, or Rather Lack Thereof, in Groups.IO Discussion Lists
Arlene
Oh wow! I did try it with my old windows 7 box. It never worked right for me. I guess my old computer was not meant for it. For some strange reason I couldn’t install it even if I was trying the free version. I never tried it again. I had errors and more errors when trying to install it. What a shock. Is that the screen reader that updates itself when new versions come out? Or am I lying?

Brian,
Since NVDA was most likely influenced in some way by System Access I thought I'd post this to highlight my sadness for the loss of SA.
This was taken from a blog in 2010:
"Let's refresh our memories on what we have already done: 1. Serotek was the first to offer a full-featured accessibility solution that does not require administrator rights to provide speech and braille access. 2. Serotek was the first to provide non-proprietary remote access speech solutions for personal and commercial environments that even work with our competition. 3. Serotek was the first to provide full-featured access to 64-bit Windows. 4. Serotek was the first to provide direct support for Braille devices that comply with the Human Interface Device standard, allowing a user to walk up to any Windows computer and have speech and Braille access without installing any drivers. 5. Serotek was the first (and is still the only,) completely web based access solution to speech and braille with satogo."
Take care, Blaster

Re: NVDA and Notepad ++ search
Gene
I don't have punctuation on in my screen-reader and I didn't know Note;pad ++ was being discussed. I thought it was just Notepad. I would think search works the same way. If it doesn't, then my comments don't apply and others may give information. But if Notepad ++ is built on Notepad, it is likely that the control f should work for search and f3 should work for repeat search. We'll see.

Re: NVDA and Notepad ++ search
It's also never a bad idea to uninstall and reinstall software that's behaving peculiarly. Much like the old tech support advice to power cycle your machine, which often fixes issues (and no one knows why) the same is true of an uninstall/reinstall.

Hi
Which synth package are you using?
I think at one time I used to have speech platform voices stop on some pages etc then had to start them again. But that was a long time ago and am using other synths packages now.

Thank you sir. I added the voices even though they appeared in the voices list for Narrator and that did the trick after a restart of NVDA.
