Re: web page navigation

Hi,
Editor revisions are useful when reviewing documents sent by someone, or if you want to take a deeper look at changes made on a site.
Cheers,
Joseph

I agree with Gene that an Ad Blocker is something you should try if
you are not already using one. And since both browsers you name are
Chromium-based ones my recommendation is uBlock Origin along with
uBlock Origin Extra. That or using an ad-blocking browser like Brave or similar.

There is an attachment that may allow you to skip advertisements. I don't
recall its name though I can probably find it with a Google search. You can
also try an add blocker. But the attachment isn't for reading line by line.
It is for reading text, such as an article and it requires that you issue
the read command at frequent intervals. I'm not sure when you have to do
this, if it is at the end of every paragraph or just when. The add-on skips
extraneous material.

But that may not be what you want. An add blocker may be.

latest veersions of Google Chrome and MS Edge.
I like to use the arrow keys to review a web page. In doing that I come
accross multiple lines in a row that say Inserted. I think these are
advertisements. Is there a way with NVDA to skip over these types of lines?
Thanks

Hi Ishant,

> does Hindi language available in it?

Yes, you can select it in the add-on settings panel:
1. Select Lexicala Dictionaries service: NVDA+Y, then F2.
2. Go to settings panel: NVDA+Y, then O.
3. In section "password" you can translate words and phrases from English to Hindi.

Or in section "global" you can choose Hindi as source language.
but not all target languages may be available in this section.
You can check the checkbox "Show all available translations" to view all available target languages.

Good luck!

Hello Harshad,

Yes, Lexicala dictionaries support Hindi (हिंदी).
But Gujarati isn't supported :(

You can find a full list of supported languages at:

Good luck!

Are you using basic HTML or standard view? If Basic HTML, the easiest

way to find it is to navigate by heading from the top of the page, it

will be there as a link and a heading. As for attachments, it doesn't

open a dialog right away, it opens a second page where there are 10

more browse buttons that you then have to use just like the first one.

If you're using standard view, I'll have to test this out and get back

to you.

Hi friends,

If someone uses online dictionaries - I offer an updated version of Quick Dictionary add-on :)
Many significant changes have been made to this release.
The biggest change is that the add-on's capabilities can now be expanded by adding new online dictionaries and translation services.
Added dialog box for managing voice synthesizers profiles.
The full list of updates is listed below.

New dictionary service also supports Arabic, as it was previously requested here:
https://github.com/grisov/quickDictionary/issues/1

Changes in version 2.0:
* added the ability to connect other online dictionary services (now supported Lexicala and Yandex);
* added Lexicala service and its settings panel (supports 50 languages) - https://www.lexicala.com/
* added a dialog for choosing an online service from the list of available ones;
* added a command to get information about the selected service;
* added a dialog for working with profiles of voice synthesizers (supported operations Create/Change/Delete/Update/Save);
* implemented the procedure for switching to the previous voice synthesizer;
* implemented a parallel thread to monitor the state of the synthesizer ((improved switching of synthesizers when voicing a dictionary article));
* due to an increase in the number of functions in the add-on - help for commands is now displayed in a separate window;
* updated procedure for caching requests to online services;
* added add-on submenu to NVDA menu;
* updated ReadMe.

Please note that Lexicala Dictionaries only allows 300 free inquiries per day.
Therefore, if you plan to use this service - please register your own account.

You can download the updated version here:

You may already know this, but I just played around with contacts in the simple HTML view. If you check the check boxes for all the contacts you want to include in a message, then press the compose button, the message will open with all the addresses you checked.

Or you can just use your screen-reader's search to search for cont from the
top of the page. You will find contacts on the first search. Search is one
of the most powerful and underused means of efficient navigation. Most of
the time, typing the first four letters of what you are looking for will be
sufficient to find the item in the first search or the first repetition of
the search.
