The only place I know of this working is in word documents.

Hi friends,

Thank you for your feedback.
I added this feature and have already updated the add-on release.
Press NVDA+Y, then E or activate menu item "Edit text before sending...".
In the dialog you can prepare the text to send to the online dictionary.

Version 2.0-dev here:
https://github.com/grisov/quickDictionary/releases/download/v2.0/quickDictionary-2.0.nvda-addon

@Rowen
I sent you a private message.
I just checked - the address specified in the add-on works. May be this was a temporary problem.

@Brian
Thank you for your help.

Good luck to everyone!

Browse mode: Can't navigate by spelling errors in Chrome text fields?

Luke Robinett <blindgroupsluke@...>

Hi folks,

I just opened a GitHub issue for this and thought I’d follow it up with a message to the group. When I’m in a multi line input field on a site using Chrome and I press W while in browse mode, it is supposed to move to the next spelling error. Instead, NVDA just says “not supported in this document.” This seems strange. Browse mode is mostly aimed at web navigation, so if this feature is not supported in the “document,” which I must assume means the web page in this context, in what document type would it be supported?

Thanks,

Luke

Outlook 365: Issue with announcement of selected text while composing mail

Luke Robinett <blindgroupsluke@...>

Hi folks,

I created an issue for this several days ago on GitHub but haven’t heard back yet so thought I’d run it by the group in the meantime. When I’m composing a new email in Outlook 365, I get strange behavior when selecting text by word. What I mean is, if I hold down shift and control and then use the left and right cursor keys to select text by words, only every other highlighted word is spoken aloud. For example, if I was selecting the words in the following sentence, from left to right, “I hope everyone is well,” I would hear the following with each press of the right arrow key: I, silence, everyone, silence, well.

NVDA 220.3 on Win10 Home. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Luke

Hi Louise,

I can no longer reproduce the repeating words issue in Chrome or Edge, so I'm going to close that issue now: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/11727#issuecomment-743323561  If you can still reproduce it after updating your version of Edge, do let me know (or comment on that issue).

Ah ok - well most of the thing you noted behaved the same in Chrome as well.  Some were the way the page is setup, and some are a bug, which I reported (feel free to add your version of Edge to that issue to confirm it happens there also).

Kind regards

The messages you receive from this Groups.io group should contain a Reply to Sender mailto link at the bottom of each message, which will use the address the sender used when sending a message to the group.  That is the best and surest way to reply privately.

Or you can just use your screen-reader's search to search for cont from the top of the page. You will find contacts on the first search. Search is one of the most powerful and underused means of efficient navigation. Most of the time, typing the first four letters of what you are looking for will be sufficient to find the item in the first search or the first repetition of the search.

Are you using basic HTML or standard view? If Basic HTML, the easiest
way to find it is to navigate by heading from the top of the page, it
will be there as a link and a heading. As for attachments, it doesn't
open a dialog right away, it opens a second page where there are 10
more browse buttons that you then have to use just like the first one.
If you're using standard view, I'll have to test this out and get back
to you.

I was interested in Thunderbird about 10 years ago, but never

the basic HTML. As for getting a list of contacts, there's a link for
that in your navigation. To send more than one attachment, activate
the button that says "attach more files."

Hi
Great add-on. I suggest you add an input box so people can type word or phrase to be looked up. The copy feature is nice, but I see there are cases such as a student asks me a strange word. That case, I must open an editor, type in that word, highlight or copy, then press command to look up
Appreciated your work

If you enable and configure this function, the received dictionary articles will be sounded by the voice synthesizers of your choice.
An example for the implementation of this possibility was the Switch Synth add-on. Thanks to its author Tyler Spivey for a great idea.

Also added the ability to download current list of available languages from the online dictionary.

Thanks to Cagri Dogan, a translation into Turkish has been added.
At the same time, updated translations and ReadMe documents in English and Ukrainian.

Friends, I'm very grateful to everyone who makes translations and leaves feedback and wishes about this project!

You can download the updated version by following the link below:
https://github.com/grisov/quickDictionary/releases/download/v1.2/quickDictionary-1.2.nvda-addon

p.s. I remember the request to add Arabic and Tamil.
Therefore, in the next version I plan to add the ability to use different online dictionaries and switch between them.

I wish everyone a good week!

Which explains your problem. This snippet is displayed by Google about UBlock Origin Extra.
The Chrome extension uBlock Origin Extra is a companion application for uBlock Origin. It is designed to add capabilities to work around anti-blocking technologies. It does nothing when installed as a standalone extension, but improves uBlock Origin's capabilities when it is also installed in Chrome.

For however long you have been running it, it has been doing nothing. Did you read the information on the site before installing it? You should read about what you are installing, either information on the site probably the page itself, or elsewhere. Don't assume.

There is an attachment that may allow you to skip advertisements. I don't
recall its name though I can probably find it with a Google search. You can
also try an add blocker. But the attachment isn't for reading line by line.
It is for reading text, such as an article and it requires that you issue
the read command at frequent intervals. I'm not sure when you have to do
this, if it is at the end of every paragraph or just when. The add-on skips
extraneous material.

But that may not be what you want. An add blocker may be.

I like to use the arrow keys to review a web page. In doing that I come

advertisements. Is there a way with NVDA to skip over these types of lines?
