Not that I know of but you can get something like it by looking at the system tray. I'll describe how to do it if you
want. It isn't quite like the list you are discussing but it may be the closest you can get.

Hi guys:

I am curious;

In jaws,

the key command jaws plus f10 opens a list of all the open windows within a
desktop;

Does nvda have an equivalent command?

Please advise as you like.

Hey old friend what’s up?

That explains plenty.  Today just so happens to be patch Tuesday for windows users in this area, and the new update just came out here.  I’m installing it now and hopefully things will return to normal.  Thanks, stay safe, and good hearing from you.

I had the same thing happen to me last week.  Not sure why.  I’ve got the most recent version of both Windows 10 pro and NVDA.  I’d like an answer to this one too. Strange.

Hi,

Another possible solution: have you considered enabling selective UIA event registration? To do so, open NVDA menu/Preferences/Settings/Advanced, check “I understand” checkbox, then from UI Automation group, select “selective event registration” checkbox and click OK. You MUST restart NVDA for changes to take effect. If it helps somewhat, then at least we know that it might be something from Visual Studio side of things. If it doesn’t, then I advise sending us a log (privately) and/or creating an issue on GitHub.

Cheers,

Joseph

Re: your assistance

I'll add several things:

1. It really helps if you give a topic a title that accurately reflects what you're asking about.  "Your assistance," which you've used twice now on two different groups where I moderate is hopelessly vague.  On the other, I retitled to:
Accessing Footnotes in MS-Word Documents (converted from PDF) using NVDA
2. This is really, at the heart of it, not an NVDA question, but a question about MS-Word.

3. The best venue for in-depth questions regarding any of the Office Suite programs is the Microsoft Office Accessibility Discussion Group, and using a topic title that clearly indicates what you are seeking assistance with.

Hello List and Developers, I installed nvda_2020.4rc1
yesterday. After that I couldn't work with VS2019 anymore.
Even switching between editor windows was no longer possible
without switching to another program or restarting NVDA. It
was certainly due to the RC1, as a change back to 2020.3
solved the problem. If someone is interested in the
problem, I'll be happy to reinstall the RC1 and send logs.

Re: your assistance

Tony Ballou

Hi,

I’m not sure if this will help in finding all the answers to your query, however, this should get you on your way.

To add a footnote to a document, press control+alt+f. The focus moves to an area at the bottom of the page where the extra information can be typed.

To return to the original point in the document, open the context menu and press g to "go to footnote" to go to the position in the document where the footnote marker is.

From within a document, to move to the footnote area, without creating a new note, press alt+s to open the References ribbon, then press h for "show notes". This can also be used to move from the footnote area back to the document area.

Hope that helps.

Good day tech gurus

I trust you are all well and still safe.

I am trying to cope.

I need your assistance.

I am working with many pdf documents full of footnotes.

As you may know, even when I convert the document into word, the
footnotes are maintained.

1. how do I access and review them using nvda?

2. how do I virtualise them in order to copy them if needs be?

With JAWS, I press WinKey+semicolon to access a dialog that allows me
to choose from a list of options, e.g. comments, footnotes, etc. I
will then select footnotes to virtualise, review and copy them to a
new location for further review and editing.

How is that done with NVDA?

Your assistance is highly appreciated in advance.

Hi,

Windows+Tab, or if you want, press Control+Alt+Tab. These are Windows commands (although NVDA’s SysTrayList add-on does let you see open windows by pressing NVDA+F11 twice quickly, it will only show you Taskbar icons).

Cheers,

Hello NVDA community,

As we await NVDA 2020.4, I figured the following podcast would be educational for many of you:

I sat down with Vytautus from Tech VB for an in-depth interview about NVDA, add-ons, accessibility advocacy and many topics. The resulting podcast (about two hours in length) is now available for your enjoyment:

In-depth interview with NVDA contributor Joseph Lee, We talked about Screen readers, Education, and everything else accessibility related – techvb.net

Thanks to Vytautus from Tech VB for inviting me for this interview, and of course, special shout-out to Nv Access people for making NVDA possible and add-on authors for opening up possibilities for thousands. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach out to me privately (not on NVDA users group please).

Cheers,

Hey there,

after some of you recommented to use Reaper, I now installed the latest version incl all Scripts.

But there’s nothing coming out over the speakers. There’s also no right possibility to select the sound device, only the selection if I want to use either Asio, WDM, Wasabi or whatever is shown to me in the options dialogue.

Any hints how to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hello Bob

Let me share my experience:

1.  Update the Zoom desktop client to the latest.

2.  Use the latest NVDA

3.  Install the add-on zoom Enhancement

4. Press NVDA + Shift + A till you hear report all alerts

5. Always make sure the chat panel is open up with Alt + H

With this, I will hear NVDA read out each chat post as soon as it

arrives. I can then respond accordingly.
