In this case, you need not use regular expression matching, since this is for a single character.  You can copy and paste that character, which has been in several messages in this topic and can be snagged from one of them, and use it in a Whole Word match rather than a regular expression match.

The tutorial goes through the steps, which are exactly the same as far as adding a dictionary entry, but I focused on regular expression matching.  It's a simple enough matter to use the Whole Word radio button as is appropriate here.

Yep, I have this behavior too. 

wonder if there is a way to stop this using the pronunciation dictionary.  It isn't a big show stopper for me but it would lessen the verbiage spoken.

Hi Group,

This issue began with the latest version of NVDA version 2020.4. When I voe to the Tree View of folders using the F6 key and arrow up and down I hear something like 'inbox fill down pointing small tirangle' followed by the number of unread messages in the folder. This is with sub foldrs located under the inbox and with the tree branch closed with the left arrow.

Does anyone else experience anything like this? This occurs with all installed synthesizers and voices and with variation of punctuation with all, some, most and characters. It stops only when I turn punctuation to none.

Well I havn't had this, from time to time my enter key double presses and at one stage it got so bad that my system was deleting and doing all sorts of things.

I was about to just reformat when I noticed my usb hub that runs just about everything was turning off and on all the time.

I traced it to a faulty port on the power cube and have it plugged into my dedicated power cube on my desk.

This does use another port but that doesn't matter.

A lot of things have changed since I got upgrades to my room so who knows.

Double enter happens from time to time but its more annoying than anything else.

Sometimes keyboard focus switches due to something pressing itself but I just have to be aware and type slower and not be in a hurry while managing files.

Eventually I may have to replace this mechanical down the road.

Thank god I never eat or drink at the terminal, a thing some friends, students at my flat and family have a habbit of doing.

Computers do not mix with  human consumables.

I am not sure how I did this, but I disabled my NVDA keys, not only numlock zero key, but as if that wasn't enough, the capslock key also. How can I restore that? Thank you so much.

A screen reader only reads text (or alt-text, for graphics) that is exposed
to it to read. It almost sounds like it's now reading the character used

This is an electron issue, skype are aware of this, and are trying to fix it. If you just hit alt and hit it again your tab will work. We discussed this on my list a few months ago actually, which is why I can give you the tip.

Hi. I am running the most recent nvda.

When I open skype or go to an application and change again to skype, the tab key doesn't read the controls. I know that they are there because I used the ocr to recognize the window.

So, I pressed alt and navigate in some menus using the arrow keys. When I exit the menu, the tab key read the objects as it would do in other applications.

I reproduced it 2 or 3 times.
