If this is enough of a problem, try reading messages as plain text and see
what happens. Also, you could try using another e-mail program and see what

happens. Firefox has a setting to use simple HTML. That setting allows
messages to use HTML for such things as formatting, but doesn't allow
anything to run or any HTML to do anything in a message except that which

displays formatting and which allows you to follow links.

I have seen this and suspect the problem is the HTML markup of the messages.

Uber's messages would have some very cluttered HTML and perhaps javascript
which could be slowing NVDA down.

All of these questions are good questions, and I will try to answer them all right now. The reason it is so good for only 5 dollars is because I want a very good TTS voice that anyone who needs it or wants it can use, but not have to spend a lot of money. It is a real TTS voice, not me talking. I recorded 755 long phrases to make the voice, and that's why it's so good. I already had a customer earlier but it was a company. I don't know why a TTS voice company wanted to buy my voice, but as long as they aren't planning on selling it, I guess it's OK. The person who said I wanted to get started and that I am a young creator is right. I am just getting started. The good news is that you don't have to use NVDA to use the voice, as it is SAPI5. I don't have a lot of money, that's why I couldn't make an add-on for NVDA. I haven't the slightest clue where to even begin with creating an add-on by myself. I hope my answers helped. However, I have one more thing to say. I don't think it's right to get suspicious about something that was just started. If someone gave a bad review, that would make sense. However, for people to keep making other people think that it's bad is not acceptable until there is evidence there is something bad. I hope that company who bought the voice from me for 5 dollars can tell you that it works and they can even post a video of them using it if they want to. Thanks.

By default, the program plays the default Windows sound for incoming mail. If you want to see what setting is being used, you can checck in the following manner:
When you are in the main window of the program, issue the command alt t.  Up arrow once to options and press enter.
Start tabbing.  You will get to a check box that says play a sound.  Check it with the space bar if it isn't checked.
Then tab until you get to a radio button that says something like play default sound.  If it says something else like play another file, let us know.

There are one or two things to know to make working with the options interface much more accessible.  I'll explain them if you wish.

When you have finished working in options, close it with control f4, not alt f4.  Control f4 will return you to the main program window.  Alt f4 will close the program and when you open it again, you will be in options again.

The reason you need to use control f4 is because options is a tab, not a separate window in this program.
