Should download the file, but I did this and found winamp played it fine. I suspect it might be because I set up mp3 to default to winamp and that I use the K-lite codec pack on all my machines and select other player when I install it, making winamp the default as I say. Not tried this in windows 10, where as we know there seem to be no sensible file type defaults set for things, no matter what Winamp may claim, one has to do it manually.

Hi, everyone,

There's a song that I like a lot but when I want to play it, I have to do a search in my music drive. Once I find the song, how do I move it to the music drive with the rest of the songs instead of it being by itself?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I just played about 5 seconds of it. It sounds good. If you have it playing off the link provided you must tab to the play button using Firefox. In my case using up and downarrow doesn't work.

Hi folks.

So i just wanted to test out iTunes, using the master snapshot of nvda.

When you type into the search box, and try to review what you've wrote, nvda doesn't speak.

Also when looking for something in the store, nvda goes away, and you need to restart it again.

I'm not sure how to create a log of the crash, because when nvda goes away there's no speech.

It may also be that those who don't like the command aren't moving to the search results efficiently or between them and the main program window efficiently.  I saw one message discussing  using f6.  But the message didn't say anything about using shift f6 to move back efficiently.  Try using f6 to move to the search results and then try shift f6 to move back to the main program window.  Is that more efficient?

Whatever the case, f6 moves you one direction through different structures such as tool bars or, in this case getting to the edit field.  Shift f6 moves you the opposite direction when moving through structures you can move through in that way.  For another example, Shift f6 often will move you backwards through structures such as dialogs.

Are you in Browse mode or focus mode when you press NVDA+control+f?

(Browse mode, for reading, can use single letter navigation keys and NVDA+f7 elements list like on the web.  Focus mode, you can write text - Word is normally in focus mode).

NVDA+control+f only works in Browse mode, so you need to press NVDA+spacebar in Word to switch to browse mode, but otherwise, it may provide a simpler "find" interface for some than particularly the task panes in the newer versions of Word.

Hi Jean.  I agree with you but I’ve just had a very nice little breakthrough.  I was struggling to edit text in eBay item descriptions using both Internet Explorer and Firefox and I thought I’d just try Chrome not expecting anything great.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually worked beautifully.

I wish I could just use 1 browser for everything but it’s nice to know that I can find a solution even if I do have to switch browsers occasionally.  Better than nothing.  )

Someone suggested turning on notification of tables.  I assume the person was referring to the setting in document presentation.  I'm saying that, as far as I know, that setting has nothing to do with how tables are read when you are in a table.  all commands should work no matter how that setting Is set.  My understanding  and experience is that that setting controls whether tables are announced when you enter them but it has nothing to do with how tables are read.  That's how other settings work.  I have heading announcements off but I can move to all headings using the movement commands for this purpose.  as far as I know, all such commands only control whether NVDA announces structures and have no effect on whether you can work with them.

Your problemn is probably one more lack of accessibility in Chrome.  Chrome has come a long way but it is still not fully accessible and after all these years, there really is no excuse.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that. Jean, I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. I know when I get to a table because NVDA tells me, it just will not move around the cells using the appropriate keystrokes.

This depends on how the browser renders the table content. In this
case, Firefox is doing a better job at it than Chrome. What you can
try is to go into Browse Mode settings dialog and check 'Include
layout tables' option and see what happens.

Subject: [nvda] Strange issue with NVDA 2016.3 and Hims BrailleSense Plus

Hello all,

A friend reports installing a Hims BrailleSense Plus with NVDA 2016.3 on
Windows 10 (latest update), and experiencing the following issues:

1. NVDA doesn't retain the braille display selection, and the device must be
selected every time he connects it, or restarts NVDA;

2. The braille display command keys and cursor routings don't respond,
although they did as soon as the device was installed.

Both the laptop and NVDA have been rebooted a few times to check whether
they would return to work correctly, but no success.

I know the braille display is a BrailleSense Plus with qwerty, and that
braille settings are on "Braille display follows focus".

I hope someone has some advice, because the guy is a teacher, and badly
needs his device to work properly at scholl, as well as at home.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Ciao,
Ollie

Re: Cannot Read Table Cells in a particular website using Chrome

Cheers

Doesn't that just tell you when you are entering a layout table and not have anything to do with reading them?

This depends on how the browser renders the table content. In this
case, Firefox is doing a better job at it than Chrome. What you can
try is to go into Browse Mode settings dialog and check 'Include
layout tables' option and see what happens.
