Re: teamtalk latest issues
Thats good. I managed to resolve the issue by starting teamtalk, setting the sound to none, hitting ok, restarting nvda, opening another instance. doing the same thing, restarting nvda, tabbing to the other instance which simply was no longer frozen, kill the stuck instance, try to do things again but this time it worked properly and I can't seem to reproduce it anymore. It doesn't matter anyway as long as the config gets mangled somehow as its set for what I need it for right now. It will be good to get this fixed though.

I don't use teamtalk public servers though because my main use was for spaciffic servers I manually entered into site manager. The biggest reason to get the later versions are usually codec and security updates.

Hi,
I recently updated my computer and after the Update, I'm having difficulty accessing the favorites menu. I can open the menu, but I can't seem to navigate it. It calls it a dialogue, but it's like it locks up. Is anyone having that issue? If so, do you know of a work around?

You could try removing the voices and adding them again
And RESTART the system

Hi,
This is a brand new laptop for a customer. I have just upgraded it to Windows 10 H2 and installed NVDA.
I have two identical laptops here, one works absolutely fine, and the other will not load the Onecore voices.
It appears in the list, but then says Error loading Synthesiser driver. It works with Espeak fine, but I think they would prefer the default voice.
Narrator speaks fine with it, and even works if I go into Speech settings in Windows and Preview the voice.
What I have tried so far is to completely remove and reinstall NVDA, including user settings.
I have also tried resetting the configuration with Control+NVDA+R three times.
Again, the synth appears in the list, but errors when loading.
I saw a similar message on this list from Louise, so the next thing I am going to try is to check compatibility settings in NVDA to make sure nothing is checked. Other than that though, I am not sure what is going on here. Other than that, I’m almost ready to reset the PC, if no-one has any ideas.
Here is the log excerpt that I get when trying to load the synth:-
INFO - core.main (16:48:49.235) - MainThread (5932): Using configobj version 5.1.0 with validate version 1.0.1 ERROR - synthDriverHandler.setSynth (16:48:52.220) - MainThread (5932): setSynth Traceback (most recent call last): File "synthDriverHandler.pyc", line 448, in setSynth File "synthDriverHandler.pyc", line 419, in getSynthInstance File "synthDrivers\oneCore.pyc", line 169, in __init__ File "synthDrivers\oneCore.pyc", line 476, in _getDefaultVoice RuntimeError: No voices available
Of course, there are voices available, because they work with Narrator.
If anyone has any ideas, please do hit me with them.
Thanks.

Yep, you asked Louise that, and I even answered it in this Email, by saying I went into speech settings, selected the voice and previewed it.

Copying and pasting problem in games written in BGT
mustafa elçiçek
Hello,
While the NVDA Extension Global plugin enabled, I cannot copy and paste in games written with BGT. I mean, I want to paste the clipboard text into a message window, I press CTRL +V but it won't paste in any way. However, if I press Alt + CTRL + V, then I can paste that way. From the plugin's settings, I set all features as loaded, but again, nothing has changed. Of course, I leave the announcements feature of the Clipboard commands loaded. When I set the announcement feature of clipboard commands to "Don't install", there is no problem. So copy and paste process works as expected. What do you think the problem might be caused by?

www. https://nnels.ca/
more these days. It is an national network of equitable library services. It is available to all print disabled Canadians with a local library card.
When I do a search on this web site, I find myself pressing the letter “h” for headings til I get to the first result. When I get to the first result, nvda says “heading llevel 3”.
Is there a key press, combo I can press to jump to the first “heading level 3” without going through all the previous headings?
Please, don’t kick me off the island, because I did not find the answer to my question in the quick start guide.
Cheers,

teamtalk latest issues
Hi all.
currently teamtalk 5.7.1 latest beta and stable build has an issue refferenced here. https://github.com/BearWare/TeamTalk5/issues/869 A few people including myself have had an issue with the latest version. It appears at least in preffs that saving preffs after changing sound devices which are always using default device or internal devices for whatever reason simply will not work. Users do say it will hang for a long time and will possibly not come back. For now I'd go back to the previous version of 5.6 if you really need the program to save settings. The issue sadly does take nvda out forcing me to restart. This is not in itself an issue as even if nvda did not freez I still wouldn't be able to use the program. The log fragment etc is refferenced in the issue though I do want to get a teamtalk log if I can find out how to generate it. I don't need teamtalk for the moment but just a heads up, if you want the latest classic there is a showstopping bug right now. Basically what it boils down to is you can't save configuration at all!

Re: navigating headings
Cearbhall O'Meadhra
Monty,
Great that you discovered the “h” command for navigating to each heading! For specific headings, when in browse mode on the Internet (that is what you are in when you first open a web site), just press the number 3 key on the main keyboard and that will jump through all the level 3 headings and ignore any other heading.
Similarly, if you want to find the first place where significant material begins on a web page, you can press the number 1 key to jump over all preliminary material directly to Heading 1.
All the best,
Cearbhall

You can navigate to the next heading at a particular level by pressing that level's number on the number row. So to jump to the next level 3 heading, you would press 3. As with all of these browse-mode shortcuts, you can jump backward by pressing Shift + <command>.
