Re: nvda and Firefox?
Chris
The bug only affected a small number of users using the 64bit version of firefox
But changing the browser.startup.preXulSkeletonUI parameter in about:config to false resolves the issue

I never experienced any issue. I paused the updates briefly but then went back to the normal schedule/channel and everything ran fine. I think it may only have ffected those who have firefox profiles. Running 89.0.d with the latest NVDA plus a now ratehr old version of JFW with no problems.

Yes, 89.0.2 resolves the issue

A few weeks back there was discussion that a Firefox update wasn't very accessible in a few ways but that a fix would be coming. Has the new Firefox with these fixes out by now? I just got a notice that a new version is available and just want to know if I should go ahead and get it or still wait a bit.
Thanks.

sending a file through NVDA remote
Glenn / Lenny
Hi,
I have successfully pushed my clipboard to
someone's computer that I was controlling via NVDA remote, but now I want to
send a file.
I went into remote and copied the link and send,
and I don't know if it went, or if it did, where it went to on the other
computer.
Thanks.

will the object enhancer from that dropbox site work with NVDA 2021.1 and above?

Re: Running NVDA on a MacBook with BootCamp or similar?
tim
Then your the only one running it. Because no one on the mac lists can get it working because NVDA don't work on arm chips or arm versions of windows. Not even the NVDA programmers could get it working.

Re: DECtalk Add-on for NVDA
Josh Kennedy
I found Roger dudley on linkedin. Roger Dudley is the person who owns or used to won speech-fx-inc who bought decTalk from Fonix corporation, formerly digital equipment corporation back in the 1980s and 1990s. And so I tried contacting him onlinkedin several times and I got no reply. I found a phone number for speech-fx-inc and I called it and it is a dead discontinued phone number. I also getting in touch with people on linkedin who have connections to Roger Dudley and they tried helping me to get in touch with speech-fx, and they got no where just like me. Long story short it seems like decTalk is abandoned. Jake Gross's website has NVDA has decTalk addons.

AVPageView text frame in Adobe Reader
Felix G.
Dear NVDA community,
when I open a pdf file with Adobe Reader, focus tends to land on something called AVPageView text frame. The arrow keys do not read anything in this control, and it has no child objects. When I alt+tab out of then back into Adobe Reader, I can read the file just fine. Observed with NVDA 2020.4 and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Continuous Release | Version 2021.005.20048. JAWS does not have this problem. Any advice is appreciated. Best, Felix

To make it compatible with 2021.1 only need to change the addon compatibility flag, I did this and it worked well.

That's good to know. However, I don't have the sapi5 package to test it at the moment, so I will not see the new voices that have been added. I'd assume they added those new voices to their latest driver for NVDA as well?

Well if you have your atguys link, if the sapi voices for eloquence and vocaliser are anything to go on just download it from your atguys email link and its going to work.

Please read the message just posted about voices and such. I wish they told me about the voices because while its all fixed now with the voices all reinstalled, I have used systems with broken voices and it screws up sapi big time, the only way to fix it is to do a clean install of the os. This is probably something I will bring up with code factory because while its fixed now there is no way to get rid of the voices that are broken and if I was told an update was going to require extra steps I would have uninstalled all voices before updating.
