Re: NVDA Global Commands Extension

I cannot install this add-on either!

It said that it needs a minimum of NVDA 2021.1!

That is what I have, and I really need this add-on, because I need my numpad to act like normal arrow keys instead of NVDA functions!

I don’t know how the other person was able to install it!

Have a great one!

Well could be server issues, could be network dropouts who knows.

Hi all.

For more information: In the sleep mode, NVDA Disable the Reading of the Window and only accept the command for Disable it. Keyboard layout desktop: NVDA+shift+s, Laptop NVDA+shift+z.

Yes, NVDA+f2 have the function of pass the key pressed after the command to Windows or the application.

hi,

I don't think there is such a feature available currently, unless that program has its own speech then you can activate the sleep mode with nvda+shift+z.

Otherwise, the only option I see is that you press NVDA+f2 each time before the command.

good luck.

Thanks again,

Hi Janet,

See my blog post at the following link.

https://techesoterica.com/gotowebinar-and-screen-readers/

When using GoToMeeting, you must use its  HTML5 client. You do this by appending a parameter to the joining link that has been given to you.

Go to meeting will open in a browser and you should be able to navigate without problems.

You know, if you don't have anything constructive to say (and that can be negative) then, please, don't say anything at all.

The Community Add-Ons page is the home for all add-ons that their developers wish to submit and undergo a vetting process.  It is a developer's choice whether or not to do that.  The bulk of the most commonly used Add-Ons have been on that page for years.  There are any number of "home grown" add-ons where the developers of same have decided against undergoing the vetting process.  That's not necessarily any reflection on the utility of their add-ons, and I have lobbied for a separate page for unvetted add-ons that would be an "at your own risk" affair, but if you won't undergo checking then it makes sense that your add-on doesn't show there.

The Add-ons and backwards incompatible NVDA releases page lists add-ons not necessarily on the Community Add-Ons page since it's purpose is to note what is, or is not, compatible with a specific NVDA release.

Clipspeak appears on both of those pages, and is currently noted as not compatible.  Contact the developer, who's email address is on the "compatibility page," to inquire as to when an official version is slated to be released that is compatible with NVDA 2021.1.

Re: firefox and the latest nvda not working?

I am using the 32 bit version.

The only issue I have is that in some pages like windows update history buttons don't always execute, and some links on some websites will double speak and will not press, but these are in games and I have to go back and forth with the arrows and tab to execute them.

However while its a bit annoying I can still brouse well enough so its ok.

I downloaded NVDAExtensionGlobalPlugin-9.7.nvda-addon

NVDA reported that it was not compatible.

I did get the updated version of clip speak, and it is working now with 2021.1

Global Commands Extension was posted a couple of times earlier.

Firstly under this subject  line via a DropBox link from another poster.

I then posted the official download link again under a more relevant subject line. The mod apparently  converted my text URL into a correct link.

Did you get this add-on via either route?

Hello David,

I'm not finding this addon, but am definitely interested in it. If

you've got a url that would be great or maybe the dev could put it on

the community addons page.

Thanks.

DAve.

Hi Brian, the downloads are located in /software/websphere/voicetoolkit/InstallShield/VT6.0TP/Languages/TTS/win/. The ttsdata.jar files are just zip files with renamed extensions, and they contain standard InstallShield installers that install an unrestricted copy of ViaVoice TTS 6.7.3.2 that anything complying with IBM's publicly documented API can use. They also exist, although with fewer languages, in /sns/asi.

I have been pointed to this IBM site (obviously official, and if you paste it into most browsers it will redirect since FTP support has been deprecated):  ftp.software.ibm.com

I have no idea of exactly where to look, but have been told that the TTS DLLs (or I'd presume we're talking DLLs) are there for download and that licensing information is vague, at best.  There is a ton of stuff on that site, so I have no way of determining where, specifically, to drill down into.

This is a completely open FTP server, as in it uses old style FTP and there is no login requirement.  That's about as open a door as one can get.

Well, I, for one, am not going to prevent people from sharing location information about software any company keeps on a fully open FTP server.  There's nothing that can be argued about the legality of sharing that information.

So if you know where it is, then state that.
