To be quite honest, we forgot that we had this add-on made. My own boss asked me the other day to look into a functionality to label objects in NVDA as they can do in JAWS, turns out we already had something on the table :).

I'll give it some love where needed, since it would be tremendously useful for our own work as well. If anyone has a pull-request that it wants to push then I will look into it.

remove, restart nvda and reinstall the add-on after verifying its removal.
Another thing, do you have installed any other add-ons that use the same key combination?

Hi to every body,

@Rui, the package downloaded automatically from Weather_Plus works, it doesn't depend on the package which is pretty much the same.
Rather I would first remove all versions of the add-on and reinstall it, you'll see that it works.

Add-on updates part 3: Windows App Essentials 21.08, several add-on support and compatibility notices #addonrelease

Hello all,

Windows App Essentials 21.08 is now available. This release includes localization updates and officially renames the add-on from Windows 10 App Essentials to Windows App Essentials. In addition:

  • First release to support Windows 10 21H2 (build 19044) and Server 2022 (build 20348).
  • Requires Windows 10 20H2 (October 2020 Update/build 19042) or later.
  • Experimental support for Windows 11 (build 22000) changes.
  • In some search fields, NVDA will announce suggestion count whenever you enter search terms.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

  1. A future version of this add-on will require upcoming NVDA 2021.2 or later. This future update will be released shortly after 2021.2 stable version is released.
  2. At least one follow-up release will be made to respond to Windows 11 changes.
  3. Windows App Essentials add-on will support a given Windows 11 feature update for at least 18 months. This will guarantee support for at least two Windows 11 feature updates in a given add-on release in consideration for people who prefer to wait until moving on from one Windows 11 feature update to the next. Feature updates to Windows 10 will be supported for at least 12 months, and only the latest Windows Insider Preview build is supported.

As always, Windows App Essentials 21.08 is available from community add-ons website and from Add-on Updater.

Hi all,

Resource Monitor 21.08 is now available. This release includes localization updates and:

  • Windows builds 20348 and 22000 are recognized as Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11, respectively.
  • On 64-bit systems, Windows version information will announce the type of processor the system is equipped with (either x64 (for Intel/AMD) or ARM64 (for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors)).

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTICE: a future version of Resource Monitor will require NVDA 2021.2 or later due to changes introduced in recent NVDA versions that affects this add-on. This future version will be released shortly after NVDA 2021.2 stable version is released.

As always, Resource Monitor 21.08 is available from community add-ons website and from Add-on Updater.

Hello everyone,

If you are getting Add-on Updater notifications as you read this email, you are not alone:” several add-ons are being updated, including most of my add-ons.

The following add-ons received updates:

  • Control Usage Assistant 21.08: localization updates
  • Enhanced Touch Gestures 21.08 (localization updates, initial support for Windows 11)
  • GoldWave 21.08 (localization updates)
  • StationPlaylist 21.08 (localization updates, removing a debug tone for encoder support)

IMPORTANT: the next version of NVDA (2021.2) makes changes that will affect many add-ons. Therefore, future add-on releases from me will require NVDA 2021.2 shortly after the stable version is released, and until then, there will be no add-on updates. The only exception is Windows App Essentials (part 3 of add-on updates series) – at least one follow-up release will be made to respond to Windows 11 changes.

As always, these add-on updates (and others to follow) can be found from community add-ons website and via Add-on Updater.

One I don't think I saw mentioned - after you updated NVDA, had you restarted the PC?  We often see random issues in between updating NVDA (or other software) and restarting (not just shutting down) the PC.

After that, if you can pinpoint a specific issue, and especially if you can try with a portable copy of NVDA 2020.4 to confirm it is different in the newer version, please do write up an issue on: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues
