Re: Turning Off Braille Translation

Ah, No, set the orbit output table in nvda to us English eight dot braille. As I mentioned this is grade 0 braille. I don’t think there is a way of completely turning off translation in nvda so nvda will send what you are reading to the orbit thinking its grade 0. This is just braille ascii code so you should get at least an attempt to read grade 3 braille as you want. Please let me know how this goes as I am interested my self. Kind regards, Dennis huckle.

Hello,

Is the display connected via usb or Bluetooth?. Sometimes Bluetooth doesn't "kick in" at log in screen for some braille displays for some reason. Once you have set your braille display as you want have you gone to settings and gone to save configerations at log in?. This does help sometimes. I think it may also depend on the particular display. Also make sure your version of nvda is up to date. Hope this may help. Kind regards, Dennis huckle.

Accessible Website Host with Drupal 9
Amelia Anne Dickerson
Apologies, I asked a question related to Acquia’s Dev Desktop yesterday. I went ahead and gave it a try, only to find it’s no longer supported by Acquia. So now I’m looking for an accessible website host where I can use Drupal 9.
Please forgive my naiveté. I’m a beginner. When I Google this, I just find tips for how to make my website accessible. That’s not what I’m looking for. Does anyone have a favorite website host? Free is pretty important to me.
Warm Regards, Amelia Dickerson Digital Accessibility Office Amelia.dickerson@...

I believe the page I gave a link to briefly discusses how to use the
program. As I recall, you have to set it to work with the specific sound
card. If it isn’t clear how to work with the program, ask here. I
haven’t used it.

which setting should be made in the silanzo program for it to work properly- There is no setting, to my knowledge. The program simply has to be running in the background. It constantly feeds "silence" to the sound card so that it can never go to sleep and, indirectly, neither can any Bluetooth audio device it's streaming to. And by feeding silence I mean just that - it plays zero volume sound. What allows the card to be put to sleep is when no sound is being sent to it by anything. There is also an NVDA Add-On, BluetoothAudio, meant to address the same issue. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hey Andre, just for the halibut, have you tried a portable install? & have you gone into control panel per my previous post to enable audio- Audio ducking is definitely not supported in NVDA portable. Re: delayed speech

The sound card goes to sleep after a period of silence. Use Silenzio
to work around the problem.
If you follow this link, you can read about it and
download it.
When you are on the page, search from the top for
Silenzio.

Go to the Braille tables and pick the english U.s. 8 dot computer Braille table. i have done this so I could read things that have already been translated to Grade 2. You may find that the files are in brf format with dot 7 on most of the time. I had to write a program to remove it from some brf files that I wanted to read from BARD. Let me know if you want further heolp. John

Hello, Please tell me where you have set your output table set at present. Also which braille display are you using. If you want to come back to me off line at I’ll be happy to work with you on this. I suspect, but aren’t sure at present, that if you set your output table to American eight dot computer braille, otherwise known as grade 0, this may help. Please let me know. I use a focus 14 braille display and have written my own list of braille commands that work with nvda but aren’t sure about commands for other displays. Kind regards, Dennis huckle.
