It is important to read the information in the user guide about browsing. The web page isn’t changing. the screen-reader is automatically switching modes. Sleep mode is a red herring. It has nothing to do with the issue. You should also be able to get information about browsing with NVDA in various tutorials and training materials. But if you don’t get this information, you may have ongoing confusion. Do you know how to work with the user guide? I won’t go into where the information is is this message. I'd heard of m.facebook.com, which did not solve the problem, but not this address. I looked at the screenshot you posted and it makes even less sense to me that these sounds were being produced when NVDA was in sleep mode. As described, that's supposed to suppress all output from NVDA. I'm glad my volume was down haha. @Brian, I tried NVDA + Shift + S but it didn't work. Anyway, I found the issue. The beeping sounds were coming from Preferences > Settings > Browse Mode > "Audio indication of focus and browse modes". That option, by default, was selected. Unselecting that made the beeps go away entirely while Speech Mode was off. Tested thoroughly, and confirmed that this was causing the beeps while Speech Mode was off. Please see this image: https://ibb.co/RvCc3Dt Maybe this isn't an issue for everyone (it sounds like it isn't), so to be clear, I'm on a windows 10 machine and my NVDA version is 2021.2. Extended Winamp and Golden Cursor: as part of my exit procedure, these two add-ons are no longer maintained by me, effective immediately (I have asked add-ons community to update these add-ons). Changelog for Clock add-on (for other add-ons, they include localization updates): User interface messages have changed to make them more user friendly. The way you specify quiet hours has changed completely. Instead of entering quiet hour ranges using an exact time format syntax, a series of combo boxes will let you choose quiet hours start/end hour and minute. Fixed a long-standing bug where if you choose a different alarm sound, NVDA will play it until the end even if you close alarm settings panel. Fixed time output issue for 24-hour format. Instead of using the log viewer, or if NVDA has stopped and you needed to restart it or the computer: 1) Press WINDOWS+R to open Windows' Run dialog 2) Type %temp% and press ENTER (that's the percent sign, the letter t e m p and another percent sign). Windows Explorer should open to the temporary folder. 3) Press TAB to move to the file list 4) Press N and move down to find up to three files: nvda.log (the log file for the current or most recent NVDA session), nvda-old.log (the log from the previous session) and nvda-crash.dmp (a crash dump with more information created if NVDA itself crashes). 5) Depending on what email program you use, the steps will be different, but attach as many of those three files to an email to info@... as will be useful, and again in the body of the message describe a bit about what has happened.
