Are you using any sort of script blocker or do you have JAVA scripts set to off in your browser?  This is a JAVA script link, as I found when I copied the underlying link to the clipboard.  I don’t know anything about the trustworthiness of this site so I haven’t visited the page with JAVA script enabled.

Hi all,

I am trying to click on the login link at the below URL.
https://offers.reward360.in/regalia

I see the login link but when I hit enter on it, nothing happens. I am
supposed to see some kind of popup box.
I have tried the following without success.
1. I have switched to focus mode and have then tabbed to the login link and
hit enter.
2. I used object navigation to get to the link and then hit the activate
keystroke.
3.I used object navigation to get to the login link, hit the pass key
through keystroke and then hit the activate keystroke namely numeric pad
insert + enter in the nvda desktop keyboard layout.
4. I used the list of links feature, got to the login link and then hit the
activate option.

What can I do to activate this link?
Note:
It is possible that the link is being activate but NVDA is not seeing the
box. However, I am not sure if this is the case.

It said that for me after installing the 21.10 update to the updater.  I did the check for add-on updates and got that message.

I have been asked the following question about how well nvda works with Microsoft teams. I do not use it so can not comment.

Are there others on the list who do and how well does it work with it.

I did not see a add on for it so is one not required? unless I missed it on the website. I see there is one for zoom.

any bugs to look out while using it or is it pretty good.

Hi

The website has been zipped you will need a program to unzip it. You can also do it with windows explorer but may be better to make a folder then put the files into it that is easy to find. Then it is a matter of just going to the index file with in the folder and pressing the enter key on it and use it like normal. As long as people have internet access they should be able to access audio files  etc.

There may be another tutorial been added on later this week so will update the link to the drop box account then.

I will let people know then.

The drop box link is https://www.dropbox.com/s/fh0ke305t6afduw/Accessibility%20Central%20Website.zip?dl=0

Hi guys

As you probably have noticed Accessibilitycentral.net has not be accessible and the following message comes up when you try to access one of the pages Website is temporarily down due to file system failure. Recovery is in progress, please check back later. Sorry for inconveniences

.

The people we host with were alerted when i first noticed it and it has to be fixed on there end. I do not know when it will be back up but hopefully it is ASAP.

I guess this is maybe what you get some times when you host with a free provider? with no adds and only have to pay for the domain name.

It sounds pretty serious like the server hard drive took a dive?

If any one wants to access the material on it at present I can zip it up and drop box it until it comes back on line.

This will only be the website files not the audio files as every one has access to the internet mostly.

You will then need to unzip it and put it into a folder with the files. Then it is a matter of just accessing the index file for the website.

I might again even look at other options for hosting.

Let us know and can drop box to the list.

Hi guys

I have been asked the following question about how well nvda works with

Microsoft teams. I do not use it so can not comment.

Are there others on the list who do and how well does it work with it.

I did not see a add on for it so is one not required? unless I missed it

on the website. I see there is one for zoom.

I note there is a lot of shortcuts you can use with it so I guess nvda

will work with it.

any bugs to look out while using it or is it pretty good.

I did come across this link and teams at

Hi.  I’m using Windows 10 pro Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1237) and NVDA 2021.2.  I manually installed Add-on Updater 2021.10 and implemented the python console fix.  I did figure out that you had to press ENTER followed by ESCAPE from within python console to complete the process.  I didn’t receive the errors when I checked for updates manually for both NVDA and add-ons before and after following the suggested instructions, so I don’t know if I was actually impacted.

Hi everyone,
I also experienced the same problem. Following the steps, as suggested by Joseph my problem is also fixed. Replacing the addon updater and typing the command in the consul worked. Also the RSS-addon was affected. None of the NVDA group feeds didn't work propperly. This has all been solved!
Thank you Joseph!

Re: Do the Alpha builds of NVDA do any update checking for stable production builds?

Thanks Joseph.

I strongly suspected this might be the case because alpha channels (no matter what they're called) often have specific exceptions to other channel updating rules.  But having it confirmed means I know what I need to do after installing an alpha build if I want to go back to the regular release channel:  uninstall the alpha and reinstall the latest release channel or, possibly, release candidate.

Hi,

To resolve the error message when checking for updates to NVDA itself, try:

  1. Open Python Console (Control+NVDA+Z).
  2. Enter the following AS EXACTLY AS SHOWN:

import updateCheck; updateCheck._updateWindowsRootCertificates()

In order to verify that this issue is specific to NVDA 2021.2, please tell us which NVDA version you are using (please don't say "I'm using the latest version" because "latest version" can mean 2021.2, whatever version you might be using, or the latest alpha build). Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph

Re: Add-on Updater 21.10 (mandatory update) released #addonrelease

Well using the python import line mentioned yesterday has fixed both so maybe thats another alternitive to that also.

On a forum I use audiogames they are having issues with some addons and a few people think to just downgrade nvda so who knows.

This did indeed fix the checking for addon updates under the tool menu
of the NVDA UI.  Checking for a NVDA update under the help menu still
causes a error message.

Re: Do the Alpha builds of NVDA do any update checking for stable production builds?

Hi,

NO - alpha builds will check for alpha build updates. Think of it as Firefox Nightly versus other channels where Nightly will check for new NIghtly builds whereas stable builds will check for stable updates. This is intentional as alpha builds are designed to house latest tested changes, but sometimes it is the testing ground for new and changed technologies.

Cheers,

Joseph

Do the Alpha builds of NVDA do any update checking for stable production builds?

I know that if you use beta or release candidate versions of NVDA, these actually do the expected checking and if a new stable version is available they'll ask you about downloading them.

Yesterday I uninstalled the latest stable version of NVDA to install an alpha version to assist in testing the issue with updating NVDA itself and Add-On Updater.  But I have no idea if it checks for new stable versions or not, as alpha software can sometimes be quite different than beta or release candidate in terms of functions like this one, so I thought I'd ask, as several of the regulars must know.
