No issues, I do everything in focus mode in teams. Love it. In fact I just had some meetings with my team 2 days ago.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask but Are there any issues getting NVDA to work with teams?
My preferred method of using NVDA is to float the cursor over the text that I want to read. This works fine on websites and most other programs I use but doesn’t seem to be working in teams. Any ideas and if there is a better place for me to ask this question I’m happy to hear it.
Thanks Scott

Re: nvda lagging

Well pick a version of TB and screen reader it never stopped. Its less lag with TB 78 then 91, but still there. And I killed all add ons, even removed them all still same with NVDA. Guess screen readers just don't like email.

You do know that is a problem? You shouldn't have to use the control key to move in that view. Also so far its not a problem for all.

Re: acapela for nvda not compatible
Blake Roberts <BEarlRoberts@...>
Acapela TTS for NVDA version 1.7 is compatible with NVDA 2021.2, just as it was with NVDA version 2021.1. I know this to be a fact as owner of a product license for years. I keeps the Acapela for NVDA product up-to-date on my system. Version 1.5 is for older versions of "NVDA 2019.2 and lower" to quote the Acapela for NVDA download page. Version 1.7 is for "NVDA 2019.3 +". Therefore, downloading/installing version 1.7 should be problem-free.
According to this blogp ost on the Acapelafor NVDA web site: http://www.acapela-nvda.com/blog/2021/06/14/release-of-acapela-tts-voices-for-nvda-1-7/ Acapela for NVDA 1.7 was released in June of this year to be compatible with NVDA 2021.1 and above. Make sure you are downloading version 1.7, not the antiquated 1.5 version of the add-on. After successful installation of the add-on, it is then necessary to download the Acapela voices of your choice for use with the product. Blake

Announcing cell coordinates in Excel
Akshaya Choudhary
Hello everyone,
Is there a way in NVDA to announce cell coordinates for the focused cell in excel, even when the announcing of cell coordinates is turned off in NVDA's document formating settings? Hearing cell coordinates all the time is little distracting, but at the same time I would like to know where I'm in the document from time to time. -- Regards, Sociohack

Re: New NVDA Story: Open source opens the way
Jujube
Another really important benefit of open source software, especially screen readers, is internationalization and language support, and I think this is often overlooked. One major disadvantage of commercial screen readers is that they tend to only support the languages that the manufacturer is able/willing to support. This means that commercial screen readers are pretty much a no go if they don't work properly in your language. (Narrator and mobile screen readers are better at internationalization than commercial screen readers due to being built directly into the operating system). The open source nature of NVDA means that it can easily be used by people anywhere in the world, and developers and translators around the world can ensure that NVDA is fully functional in their language. For instance, NVDA has significantly better support for Mandarin input methods than JAWS, and this is I'm sure thanks to Chinese users and developers that have helped add those functionalities to NVDA. I'm sure that would not happen at all with commercial screen readers. Sure, JAWS comes bundled with speech synths and braille tables for numerous languages, and while just having the right speech synths and braille tables can be enough to fully read and write in a number of other languages other than English, JAWS does not seem to work well with Asian language input methods. If I were ever going to have a job that involves typing in Asian languages, then I pretty much have no choice but to use NVDA. Anyway, this was a long rant, but I really do think internationalization and language support is a significant selling point for NVDA.

I've also been promoting NVDA to an organisation here in South
Africa that provides work skills training to blind/VI guys,
including putting together a small, informal form of global add-on
myself to help them get started, but, has taken a bit of time to
get the organisers to "open their eyes" to alternatives to what
they had been aware of...LOL! Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA "Resistance is futile...but, acceptance is versatile..."
