If it’s ok to post it here, however, here it goes: if you use any kind of OCR solution that can open and OCR PDFS and acquire images from scanners, what would you recommend for efficient use with NvDA?

If that OCR had the ability to keep the formatting and layout of the document, that would be a much needed extra.

Thanks for any answer.

Josh,

Do you happen to have The Code Factory add-on installed as well? If you do, try disabling it and restarting NVDA before trying  again with Acapela. At least for me it solved the problem.

Best,

Vlad.

Hi

Well I tried several acapela voices, all of them froze NVDA. The voices are not working for me on nvda 2021.2. So unfortunately I can’t risk buying them even though I really want to buy the acapela voices! Now if there were sapi5 versions of the engine and voices like codeFactory acapela voices then I would buy them. Or if the voices at least talked even if they said please register this product so I know they work—but they don’t. NVDA freezes and I get no speech. Contacting acapela has gotten me no response at all. I guess I’ll just have to stay with codeFactory eloquence and codeFactory vocalizer. Maybe someday I can buy the acapela voices when they are sapi5 and when they work.

Re: Goldwave NVDA question

Aine Kelly Costello

Can confirm I also have this behaviour on a Dell XPS, I just thought it was normal haha and I turn the NVD volume down quite a bit to get round it. But, yeah, if it could be stopped that'd be great. I don't like turning speech off for extended editing as I feel like I'm more likely to accidentally press something I didn't mean to and not notice.
NVDA latest alpha, Goldwave 6.57, Goldwave add-on enabled or disabled happens regardless, Windows 10

Yes, it's something we're aware of - basically our certificate was updated but for various reasons that hasn't propagated to everyone's computer yet.  The easiest fix is to install this add-on: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/files/7269883/NvdaCertPatch.zip created by mazen428 on GitHub, it updates your certificates then uninstalls itself (it throws an error in the process, but that is expected and also what prompts NVDA to remove it).

The add-on was created in response to the issue here: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/12894

And Joseph Lee also published some notes and alternative workarounds: https://twitter.com/joslee/status/1443991218698866689

Hi all,

I am not sure if this issue should be reported to the Github page.

I tried using nvda +F9 to mark the begining of selection,

The result turn out that what was actually selected is different from what was intended.

Any way that I can do to fix this?

Should I post the debug log here? Or simply reported to Github directly?

Thanks,
