Hi,
Just to add to this, on the website Reaper Accessibility, you can also join an Email list called Reapers Without Peepers, and there are some very knowledgeable people on there who will get you started with Reaper.

I did give you the links so you could investigate for yourself... There's a "download" link which tells you the evaluation lasts for 60 days and a purchase link which tells you that a license costs $60 for a personal license (and $225 for a commercial license).
I don't know the restrictions of the free version, but they do encourage you to download the free version first to ensure it meets your needs. Do check it out and let us know what you think.
Kind regards
Quentin.

Hi.
Well
Just got the latest windows build
21.2 19.441387 build released today.
This had the windows installer fix.
I have however noticed a small issue which isn't an issue as such because I can get round it easy enough.
Its just when I select the first item in the start menu ie hitting down arrow from search I get all apps, then you get the programs starting with punctuation like & or *, etc well that group does not read but the items in it do and can be executed.
When colapsing a group it seems I get jumpped back to the top of the list as well.
Again not a real big huge issue since I mostly search anyway but just wandered if anyone has noticed.
I have not had any other issues in fact things seem a bit more stable, but we will see what happens after I do some more shell work.

Re: Status Bars and NVDA
Martin J. Dürst <duerst@...>
I agree with Gene. In addition to his points, status bars don't work well on mobile phones, and so applications available for both PC and mobile phones tend to not have status bars.

Re: Rearrange Pinned Items
The only way I know of to rearrange icons on the taskbar prior to Windows 11 is drag and drop. And, yes, in theory you can do it with a screen reader, sans add-ons, with emulated drag and drop, but I, and many others, have found that method lacking.
Javi Dominguez has written an add-on for Drag and Drop, which others have said is very helpful. In the case of the taskbar, icon movement is constrained and they can only be moved right or left with real drag and drop, so you can use the mouse itself since the drop zone is not random. I know I've written about this in detail, but I think it was on the Windows Access for Screen Reader User's group, as this is not NVDA specific in any meaningful sense, and neither is rearranging icons on the taskbar, which is pretty much the same regardless of the screen reader in use, though add-ons/scripts can help where available. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H1, Build 19043 The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. ~ John F. Re: Slight problem with Whatsapp Desktop add-on
Sim Kah Yong
HI all, After going through the troubleshooting steps, I find out more about the Whatsapp add-on as follows: 1. The keystroke Control + Shift + T only works when my focus is on the message list. 2. When I press Control + Tab or Control + Shift + Tab to move among the chat list, I do not hear the chat that is highlighted. It would be very helpful if such information can be voiced out. Once again, using the Whatsapp add-on is a joy on a whole.

Rearrange Pinned Items
Jason Bratcher
Hey Brian and others?
I thought as far back as Windows 7 you could pin then rearrange icons on the taskbar either with the mouse or MouseKeys. Although NVDA's GoldenCursor add-on might be helpful here, too. -- Jason Bratcher

Re: NVDA - Working with Math and Sound Themes
Quentin Christensen
Yes, from memory you need both MathType and MathPlayer to create math. You can also now use the built in equations in Word. I'm not sure about Word's equation editor, I must admit I have not tried that.

Add status bar reading AddOn how should it work?
Gerardo Corripio
I’m trying to figure out exactly how the “Add status bar reading” works. I’m in File Explorer for instance, select two files, and when the AddOn is active, upon invoking NVDA+Shift+end, I don’t hear anything spoken. When the AddON is Inactive, upon NVDA+Shift+end, I hear the clasic “NO Status Bar Found”. I make sure the Window is Maximized. Am I doing something wrong? Enviado desde Correo para Windows

Re: Status Bars and NVDA
Gerardo Corripio
Thanks for sharing! It’s installed, but I don’t see any keystroke to get it working. For instance I was in Windows Explorer, selected two files, pressed NVDA+Shift+End, but I didn’t see any difference. What should it read?

Re: Status Bars and NVDA
Gene
I wonder what changed technically between Windows 7 and10. The status
bar is read in Windows 7. I hope the add-on is submitted for approval as
an official NVDA add-on.
There are times when it is important to see the status line in Windows
Explorer. When I select a number of files to copy to the clipboard for
copying, I read the status line before I copy them. It tells me the number
of selected items, which verifies that I have selected the number I
intended.

Re: NVDA not reading any content in internet browsers
Gene
The first thing to do is run the
COM
Registration Fixing tool. You can find it in the tools menu.
I suspect you uninstalled a program shortly or immediately
before you saw this problem. I don’t know what other program
uninstallations may do this but uninstalling Office causes this problem and the
registration tool usually fixes it. Gene -----Original
