Re: Endnotes in Word
Quentin Christensen
Hi Kelby, Apologies for not replying sooner - I've been busy this week! At the moment, there isn't an NVDA command to do what you want. If you have any ideas on how to best implement something, I'm open to taking suggestions back to the team? What you can do, currently, which is a Word command, is use the Go To function: Press control+g to open the go to dialog Press shift+tab once to move to the "go to what" list Down arrow to "footnote" or "endnote" as appropriate. TAB back to the "Enter footnote number" (the text will change for different elements) Type 80 Press ENTER To move to the next footnote now, press CONTROL+PAGE DOWN (or CONTROL+PAGE UP for the previous one). Kind regards Quentin.

Re: Missing spaces between words in PDF document
Jacob Kruger
Heaven, came across something similar on a webpage this morning - didn't bother saving URL, etc., but, it brought to mind a thought - characterset encoding?
As in, not sure if you can easily check encoding of a specific PDF document that has this issue, but, if you can save it to something like a text file, then in notepad, under save as, etc., you can specify characterset encoding, and maybe just double check that it's set to something like ansi?
This might not make a difference at all, but, for example, doing web development, I have, at times come across issues with things like the alternatives for line break character combinations acorss different operating systems, and thus working with different forms of characterset encoding.
And, yes, unless you can force adobe to use a specific rendering characterset, if it's a protected document, you might not be able to even copy/paste the contents thereof.
Stay well

Hi
I almost always experience this with documents in Adobe Reader. I usually have to edit my university study material to insert the spaces.

The OCR caused another problem that is not in the original: There are tables that contain multiple lines of text within each cell. Abbyyy Finereader put all of the text lines onto separate rows and this makes it difficult to make sense of the tables.

Hi,
Does anyone know what causes some PDF documents to have words that are not separated by a space?
For example: “TheCitizensBoard issuesdocumentsabout organisingevents” This line of text should clearly have a space between the words.
I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader under Windows 10 and NVDA 2016.3.
This is not new and I often find it. Can anyone explain why it happens or at least what I can do to advise authors on how to avoid sending out these badly structured documents?

Re: How to I submit a bug report ticket?
Quentin Christensen
Hi everyone, Sorry I've been caught up this week and haven't checked in on the group as much as I otherwise would have so only just got to this thread. I see no-one has filed this that I can find, and yes, I can replicate the original bug of saving a dictionary entry with no text in the pattern but text in the replacement (not sure about that last post Gene?). I've created a ticket, number 6412: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/6412 Regards Quentin.

The Better security add on has nothing to do with
scripts. it removes a more sophisticated cookie many sites use in
conjunction with Flash. I don't know if such cookies can be used in
conjunction with HTML audio/visual streaming. I use the add on but not
because it has anything to do with scripts. I use it to routinely remove
such sophisticated cookies.

Hi Joseph
I noticed when I went into object navigation mode where before you could use the arrow keys to move around in that mode, it does not do it now. this is with the add on you just released.
I have not removed the add on yet and try reinstalling it yet to see if it fixs the problem.
