Fillable PDFS?
Clement Chou
Hi. Need to fill out a reference work for a job interview, and the
form came as a fillable pdf. What's the most accessible way to handle these? Adobe Reader DC seems to do ok, but doesn't seem to highlight or focus fields properly. Any thoughts or recommendations? Edge and Chrome both just open the file without giving me options to edit it, obviously. thanks.

Oh, okay, okay! The only time I heard that Hangfire was from the Rock group The Rolling stones. I never to this day knew what it was.

Lol, I'm sorry, Eduardo--I'm usually sensitive to non-English speakers. It was late, I was tired, & I messed up. & I am so sorry & embarrassed.
Hang fire is just a slang phrase that means wait awhile. So now you learned an English slang!

I agree the speak voices lack the body and do sound harsh, although I have to admit I did not seriously give all the English American voices a spin. I will do that soon. Thanks, Mani

I would suggest OneCore mainly because you have the option of achieving higher speech rates with it, if that matters to you. Otherwise, it's personal preference.

Hello Jujube,

I did try the Zira voice and I actually like her. But tell me which synthesizer should I be using: Microsoft 5 API or Windows Core Voices? I see a noticeable difference in Zira between the two. And besides, mark is missing from the Microsoft synthesizer. Right now I am using Microsoft’s Zira. Thanks, Mani

It seems that NVDA reads an entire email the first time but when the same email is selected again only the first line is read out.

Microsoft James is an Australian accented voice so if you're not used to that accent, it's probably not for you.

Re: problem in using zoom with nvda
Carlos Esteban Martínez Macías
Hi all! When you have Bluetooth Headphones connected, Windows created an extra device of headphones with microphone and a name that depend on the device. Zoom Tray select the correct device for listen and talk but choose this without take the option system default by default. The problem of this new device is that when an application uses it, the rest of the audio send to another device (Bluetooth Stereo) is mute.
You can open Zoom, go to the settings and in the list of categories select audio. Press tab after of select audio, change input, and output device to system default. Other solutions are change the output device of NVDA (NVDA + control + s, press tab and select Headphones with Microphone), but you only can listen NVDA and the meeting in this case and with low quality like a phone call. Re: Sometimes NVDA only reads first line of an email in Outlook 2019
I'd also consider getting Windows itself up to date. 21H2 is rolling out at the moment, so I wouldn't even bother with 21H1, which is what I have until 21H2 gets offered. If you use the Update Assistant on the Microsoft Windows 10 Download Page at this point it will fetch Version 21H2.

I use say all to read e-mails. I’m using a different program than you
for e-mail but if you do so, it will become so second nature after doing so
perhaps for only a few days, that it will take no time that matters and you
won’t even think about it anymore.
I doubt there is any setting you can change. There is a setting to
automatically read a page when in browse mode but that is on by default.

Hi. The expression "Hang fire" can also mean that something isn't working. The NVDA sight hung fire while they were working on it.

Speaking of NVDA voices, I’d been having trouble using NVDA and mathplayer to read math where a colleague finally pointed out to me that the Microsoft David voice I was using was the source of my equations not reading correctly.

CAUTION: This email came from a non-OC system or external source. Beware of phishing and social engineering!
One voice that hasn’t been discussed, though it may have been mentioned, is E-Speak. It comes with NVDA, but you have to switch to it if you are using Windows 10 and 11. While I find it harsh and lacking in body, you may find that it is easier to understand than some or many others.
Not knowing about the nature of your hearing loss, I’m not recommending it, just pointing out that it may be more understandable and that it is a part of NVDA.
If you don’t know how to switch to it and try different e-Speak voices, list members will tell you.
