Re: How to I submit a bug report ticket?

What is a nice workaround to this issue is setting a keyboard shortcut
for the dictionary dialog and once it comes up you can delete the
entry.

I see no-one has filed this that I can find, and yes, I can replicate the
original bug of saving a dictionary entry with no text in the pattern but
text in the replacement (not sure about that last post Gene?).

I've created a ticket, number 6412:

there is anything in the pronounced as field. The result is that
everything is spelled by NVDA until this entry is deleted.

NVDA 2016.3, Windows 7 home premium 64 bit with all updates.
NVDA will accept a speech dictionary entry with an empty pattern field.
After the two ok buttons are clicked, NVDA speaks the replacement string
for every word encountered rendering the program useless.
I recovered by running narrator, loading default.dic into an editor and
deleting the line with the empty pattern field.
Where do I go to submit a ticket?

Re: a very question about anti spyware programs and very critical issue for me!

According to what I've read, you often do get a means to decrypt the files if you pay.  It's a scam to extract money whether you get a decryption key for your files or not but the point is that many people do get one.  I'm not saying you will but you often do.  look up the specific ransomeware you are infected with and get information about that specific ransomed wear from reliable sources.  Some ransomeware can be defeated without paying, others can't.  One reason many ransome wear perveyers allow you to decrypt your files is so that others will pay in future.  If it became known that a certain ransomed wear program perveyers didn't allow files to be decrypted, it might be harder to persuade other people to pay in future.

Why would they decrypt the files for you if indeed they actually iencrypted in the first place or have they just been renamed would be my first question?

Try an online virus scanner first to see if your system can be cleaned or a free 30day anti virus scanner to get you up and running

There is a heck of a lot about this ransom ware on various forums. the

Not seen a definitive automatic fix for it once you have it. Most of those

There may be other ways, but either this points to a lot of infected hot

Yes, either by mouse movement, or by pressing NVDA plus B, so as to hear the foreground object being announced, without the possibility of handling it manually, unless you stop it in the middle of reading where you wish it to stop. I would have done it by pressing the numpad 5, so that I could have been able to manage an object on the screen, which sometimes failed, for I would stop it either before or after the desired object. For instance, I did it while fighting with some objects within VLC Media Player. Now that the Objpad add-on was born, this doing is out of the question.

I noticed when I went into object navigation mode where before you could use the arrow keys to move around in that mode, it does not do it now. this is with the add on you just released.

I have not removed the add on yet and try reinstalling it yet to see if it fixs the problem.

Re: Endnotes in Word

Hi Kelby,

Apologies for not replying sooner - I've been busy this week!

At the moment, there isn't an NVDA command to do what you want.  If you have any ideas on how to best implement something, I'm open to taking suggestions back to the team?

What you can do, currently, which is a Word command, is use the Go To function:

Press control+g to open the go to dialog
Press shift+tab once to move to the "go to what" list
Down arrow to "footnote" or "endnote" as appropriate.
TAB back to the "Enter footnote number" (the text will change for different elements)
Type 80
Press ENTER

To move to the next footnote now, press CONTROL+PAGE DOWN (or CONTROL+PAGE UP for the previous one).

Kind regards

Quentin.

Re: Missing spaces between words in PDF document

Jacob Kruger

Heaven, came across something similar on a webpage this morning - didn't bother saving URL, etc., but, it brought to mind a thought - characterset encoding?

As in, not sure if you can easily check encoding of a specific PDF document that has this issue, but, if you can save it to something like a text file, then in notepad, under save as, etc., you can specify characterset encoding, and maybe just double check that it's set to something like ansi?

This might not make a difference at all, but, for example, doing web development, I have, at times come across issues with things like the alternatives for line break character combinations acorss different operating systems, and thus working with different forms of characterset encoding.

And, yes, unless you can force adobe to use a specific rendering characterset, if it's a protected document, you might not be able to even copy/paste the contents thereof.

Stay well

Sheri,

Actually, I ran this PDF document through Abbyyy Finereader and the OCR cured the spacing problem! So, I will have to ask the authors if this document was originally run through OCR to generate the PDF that was sent to me.

The OCR caused another problem that is not in the original: There are tables that contain multiple lines of text within each cell. Abbyyy Finereader put all of the text lines onto separate rows and this makes it difficult to make sense of the tables.

Hi,

Does anyone know what causes some PDF documents to have words that are not separated by a space?

For example: “TheCitizensBoard issuesdocumentsabout organisingevents”

This line of text should clearly have a space between the words.

I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader under Windows 10 and NVDA 2016.3.

This is not new and I often find it. Can anyone explain why it happens or at least what I can do to advise authors on how to avoid sending out these badly structured documents?

Thanks for the addons.
I found it working very well. And one thing that I found it is useful
that, I can now use it to access those toolbar icons of firefox, which
previously can only be accessed by mouse movement.

Hi Joseph

I noticed when I went into object navigation mode where before you
could use the arrow keys to move around in that mode, it does not do
it now. this is with the add on you just released.

I have not removed the add on yet and try reinstalling it yet to see
if it fixs the problem.

Re: How to I submit a bug report ticket?

Quentin Christensen

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been caught up this week and haven't checked in on the group as much as I otherwise would have so only just got to this thread.

I see no-one has filed this that I can find, and yes, I can replicate the original bug of saving a dictionary entry with no text in the pattern but text in the replacement (not sure about that last post Gene?).

I've created a ticket, number 6412: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/6412

Regards

Quentin.

Also, I don't know if this is relevant to other than the one machine I usually use and I use an old version of NVDA on that machine but at times, something becomes corrupted in my default dictionary.  There is an entry created with the word off in the original word field.  I don't recall if there is anything in the pronounced as field.  The result is that everything is spelled by NVDA until this entry is deleted.

NVDA 2016.3, Windows 7 home premium 64 bit with all updates.
NVDA will accept a speech dictionary entry with an empty pattern field.  After the two ok buttons are clicked, NVDA speaks the replacement string for every word encountered rendering the program useless.
I recovered by running narrator, loading default.dic into an editor and deleting the line with the empty pattern field.
Where do I go to submit a ticket?

Thanks,
George

Re: a very question about anti spyware programs and very critical issue for me!

The Better security add on has nothing to do with scripts.  it removes a more sophisticated cookie many sites use in conjunction with Flash.  I don't know if such cookies can be used in conjunction with HTML audio/visual streaming.  I use the add on but not because it has anything to do with scripts.  I use it to routinely remove such sophisticated cookies.

need to open or allow scripts you need.

well I searched for this thingy and well do the following.
https://www.bugsfighter.com/remove-cerber3-ransomware-and-decrypt-cerber3-files/
So basically you need the trend micro thingy from that page, run malwarebytes and make htat thing go away, oh and or spyhunter and get the beta for ransomware which I have not yet tried.
