Single file .php script...<smile>

As long as your dev, or live web server has relevant extensions though, see here on my dev server that it can handle mySQL, postgresql, oracle, sqlite, simpleDB, firebird, MSSQL, mongoDB and elasticSearch.

But, like said, it's a pretty much a single file .php script, and I run it under either xampp, or wamp here on my dev machine, or else also run it on live servers, which are actual linux machines.

Stay well

Might not be relevant at all, and don't know mysql workbench at all, but, the following is a fully web-based DB admin tool that I use often enough for mySQL, etc., since I am primarily a web dev. in any case - this is a single .php file that handles everything all in one, including a couple of other database engines, besides mySQL:

hello everybody,

I am recently taking a course on database concepts in my university to fulfill my requirements for my Information Technology minor. our class is using the MySQL Workbench and server software from Oracle.

My question is: is this application for Windows accessible with JAWS or NVDA? Do I need anything I have to do to run MySQL workbench with one of these screen readers?

Today in class was the first day in which we were supposed to learn how to create models with tables and diagrams for our first database. However, all the input I get from the installed copy of JAWS on my lab computer are some empty listviews labeled, "Add tables," "Add routines" "Add users," "Add diagrams," and others. I can not seem to type in, or edit any columns, rows, or other data within the database model, as the instructor was explaining and telling us how to do it and what to select on what I assume are selectable controls in the GUI.

Are there any specific keyboard commands used in the MySQL workbench application that I should know? Are there any third party scripts that I can load that are available for JAWS?

On a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being super accessible, how would anyone with experience with this application rate the its accessibility with JAWS and / or NVDA?

Any advice, feedback, lessons or just advice on how to get the instructor to accommodate for an alternative solution to the MySQL application will be greatly appreciated, as there is an assignment that I have to turn in using the MySQL software next Monday.

Thanks for reading!

pandora skipping and not shuffling.

ken lawrence

Hi list ken here.  really am disappointed in the indifferents in pandora’s accessibility commitment to accessibility for the blind so perhaps NVDA users can help where they can’t.  my pandora skips tracks randumly while on Internet explorer.  it only happens on IE but the bad news is I can’t make pandora shuffle nore can I switch stations on either chrome or firefox.  haven’t tried edge yet since edge is a no go with jaws and it is borderline with NVDA.  I have tried everything on firefox and chrome.  I have passed keys through and tried hitting enter, the left and right mouse buttons and the space bar on both stations and my individual stations.  I also want to remove stations that are unwanted.  pandora hasn’t had the foresite to even develop any way to do that?  they offered to delete any I don’t want for me which requires that I search all stations and come up with a list.  that’s a bit rediculous.  so my question is this.  am I more easily able to use pandora’s shuffle mode now that NVDA better recognizes HTML 5 elements on IE and is their something else I need to do on the other two browsers?  also with the better HTML 5 recognition does this make NVDA a better option with edge on pandora?  also do any of you know how to remove a station on pandora until I can perhaps activate my hope client to a full version?  also On hope, when launched, a user account control dialog comes up apparently installing an updated hope but when I did that it was just a blank page that NVDA couldn’t see so I had to uninstall and reinstall it.  when and if that comes up again should I yes that dialog or should I go get a clean version of it.  you can delete stations with hope if you have full version activated.

Have you contacted the creators of the inaccessible library document? If not you should. Libraries are for everyone and as such, documents giving details of their services should be accessible. If they don't know there is a problem for you reading their document, they can't do anything about it. Perhaps they supply it in audio or some other form accessible to you but if not, then you should complain.

Cheersd

It could be it has text in text boxes or it could always just be an image.

I cover a method for accessing text boxes in the Microsoft Word with NVDA module.  Essentially it involves creating a new text box and from there you can use tab to move between any other text boxes or inserted objects.

Alternatively, you can use the accessibility checker to locate a checkbox, set it inline and then you can find it in the body of the document (NVDA identifies it as "slash" currently) - however you would need to do that for each text box.

Kind regards

Quentin.

Yes it still works, but I think the point is its only legal to use it if you had it at the time it was around. Since then the rights seem to have been tossed around a bit like a tennis ball, so I'd be loathe to mention any links I have to it as it may well infringe copyright.

synthesiser called viavoice outloud? I am made to understadn that the
synth is obsolete, but I like it because it can be configured to sound
like eloquence. I used to have it, but I lost it when my flash drive
was stolen, and I didn't back it up on google drive or dropbox. I
tried out Koba speech, but i found out that I will need to pay for it,
and I don't have money for that. Added to that I don't like the
ESpeak synth that comes with NVDa. I don't understand the speech very
easily.
I am in trouble right now, and I need help. I am just managing to use
ESpeak with so much difficulty.
I look forward to your response.
I am ibrahim Ajayi from Nigeria.

What I wish there was an easy way to do is read text in boxes or better still get rid of the damn things in documents you are sent so you can read it properly. I keep on getting what is on at your library sent to me in a doc file that appears totally blank but sighted folk tell me has text in boxes.

Hi David,

I recently wrote this myself for the Microsoft Word with NVDA module,
available from http://www.nvaccess.org/shop/ (Hey, if I'm giving you the
content, the least I can do is plug the product it's from).

- To insert the Registered Trademark symbol, type *control+alt+r* or type
(r)
- To insert the Trademark symbol, type *control+alt+t* or type (tm)
- To insert the Copyright symbol, type *control+alt+c* or type (c)
If you are interested in going a bit deeper with Microsoft Word and NVDA,
I'd strongly recommend the Microsoft Word with NVDA module *smile*.

Kind regards

Quentin.

Hi NVDA users,

you might know the specific keys on a standard computer keyboard that

these words are read in whole but spelling is hidden if using arrow
keys. Thanks in advance.

The old cd burner xp now works in 10, and they have finally fixed their open candy installer so you can opt out, or at least in the version I downloaded you can.

Thanks Bobby for suggesting the AnyBurn software. I attempted it and
managed to burn an audio book to CD, however the AnyBurn software doesn't
seem to take all the files to the disc, only the MP3 files. Therefore, I
don't have a Daisy audio book on the CD, just an MP3 audio book. That works
for me at this point, but I'd rather have a Daisy book for all of its
navigation features, so if any other suggestions exist out there please keep
them coming.

Once again, thanks Bobby.

Hi all. I had a process down-pat for burning Daisy books to CD, however
since the latest Win10 update the process has changed. Do any of you have a
step by step for the new process? I have wrecked two CDs trying to figure
it out.

Re: Seeking Input on the Accessibility of the MySQL Workbench Software with NVDA

Sincerely,

Humberto
