Hi,

I had that same problem on Friday when I tried to fill out the form but I tried later that evening and it worked. I was able to fill out the form with no problem.

Wich program?

It can be a program problem and not a NVDA problem...

Re: Silence Using the Remote Add-on

Chris Mullins

                Hi

I have just successfully connected via the Remote add-on to my old laptop upstairs.  I have the most up-to-date copies of the addon, NVDA  and W10 on this machine but my old laptop has Windows XP on it so NVDA and the add-on are old versions.

For a successful connection using a relay server, Connection dialog controls should be set as follows:

1st control should be set to “Client” on both computers.

2nd control must be set to either “Controlling” or Controlled”.  If both computers have the same setting, you will get silence.

Host: should be identical on both computers I.E. nvdaremote.com

Key: should be identical on both computers.

F11 toggle only works on the Controlling computer.

Cheers

                Chris

Hi, Adding the ability to scroll the mouse wheel for the golden cursor would also be useful I believe. Thanks

Re: Silence Using the Remote Add-on

It sounds like on your controlling computer the setting to mute output from the remote machine is active. You will find the toggle for this setting under Tools > Remote > Mute remote. Make sure this is turned off before pressing F11 to go into remote mode. The hotkey to toggle Mute remote on and off is Alt+Ctrl+F11.

I hope this solves your issue, because this is such a great and extremely helpful addon.

Kind regards

Christo

I have experienced this happen, when one user enters the key with capslock on, and therefore the keys mismatch. The keys must be entered with the same case.

Please make sure capslock is off on both machines, and try entering the key on both of them again.
To check whether capslock is off, you may have to press it twice, because NVDA may be set to use it as a modifier key.

Hello David,

Thank you for writing this book and for making it available at no cost.  If you would be interested in having a written transcript of your book launch release presentation, please let me know.  This is information which our friends with hearing loss as well as vision loss could benefit from.  I would do it on a volunteer basis so the turnaround time would need to be somewhat flexible.

arabic english users: auto language switching in codefactory's vocalizer makes the synthesizer mis pronouncing vowels when reading arabic text

amir.iphone669933@...

Hi,

i am using nvda latest plus vocalizer codefactory latest driver with arabic maged and english uk danial. I notice when i enable the auto language switching, available on the setting tab of the code factory vocalizer addon, arabic voice will read the arabicc text strangely. It seems it skip some vowels. maybe in english i can say, like this:

i live in london since 1999.

it reads,

i lve in lndon sinc 1999.

not all, sometimes it skips it but sometimes it reads it.

when i turn off auto language switching, arabic voice read arabic text just fine. unfortunately i am using dual language here, mostly arabic but english sometimes i need to read, for example this mailing list and social media.

anyone experiencing this? tried with clean copy of nvda, still the same. i never mess with pronounciation dictionary.

str:

1. install nvda and code factory vocalizer addon, with 1 arabic voice and 1 english voice.

2. open the code factory vocalizer addon dialog box (nvda menu, code factory vocalizer, code factory vocalizer, the same place where you go to install the voices).

3. move to the setting tab.

4. find the auto language switch or detect language automatically checkbox and check it, not sure what's exactly in english but something similar.

5. now press ok button, and try read arabic text. notice the difference.

thanks

Re: goldenCursor

Louise Pfau

Hi.  I'm using Windows OneCore voices English (Canada) pack with NVDA 2021.3.1, and it read the messages the same way it would if there was an emoji in a line of text.  That is, it recognized that there was a line of text present, but the reading of the characters was blocked somehow.  I've had the same thing happen when people from my church send a message in Chinese.

Re: goldenCursor

Hi all,

According to a translator who sent the translated message to NVDA add-ons list, this message is about Golden Cursor 6.0 changes.
