VI Techability

Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well. today I am here with a problem. I am using latest version of nvda with windows 11. I am facing totally a strange problem.
whenever i write something on any edit fields or in any other wordprocessing softwares like word and notepad, I can't use arrow keys to navigate through the characters words or anything. i tried to fix this on my own but I am not being able to.  i tried to reset nvda to its factory settings but still the problem can be seen after sometime. Ialso tried turning on  speak command keys using nvda key + 4 when it got turned on nvda announce as hover hover continuously. so is there a way to fix this problem. please help me. i tried swiping on the screen and the problem got fixed for a while but it is not permanent. hoping for your reply thanks

I contacted Code Factory as to when their NVDA addon for
vocalizer/eleoquinse would be updated for NVDA 2022.1 and below is their
response. Is what they say true?
Hello,

Thank you for your email.

We contacted the developers of NVDA, and we were informed that they
intend to roll back the changes that break compatibility with our Voices
for NVDA plugin. We are waiting for verification that this has indeed
been done.

I guess I could just use the portable zipped file rather than the setup executable, but would really like to use the regular setup file for installation.

Hope I'm not asking this out of turn, but if someone could please oblige, it would really be appreciated.

Interesting because headers have never worked for me. I just hit b to get to the download button then down arrow.

Larry,

If you visit this page frequently, try clearing your browser cache and see if that fixes the issue.

Hi, I don't think this is NVDA related, you can write to me off the list, I can try to help.
You can open bookworm and open a file by hitting control+o, also make sure that your mobi or epub is not DRM protected.
The Bookshelf feature is not exactly related to reading the book.
good luck.

Sanjog Kumawat

Hello,

I am user of Bookshare. I am unable to reproduce the same issue which is mentioned in the emails. In my case, NVDA does not skip any headings. I tried searching for different books but it always reports all the headings.

I am using NVDA 2021.5, Firefox 99.0.1, and Windows 11 latest version. I also tried this with other browsers but everything is fine.

Since I also work in Bookshare, it will be good to send me a detailed explanation of the issue as well as a video of the issue if possible, to my email address – sanjogk@.... I can at least verify with my team if it is something from our side.

With Best Regards,

Interesting.  I hope you get some other reports regarding the experiences of regular BARD users on these sites with NVDA.

Hi Jackie and all,

Jackie, thanks for the steps. My mistake was to look for a button to rsvp where as what I should have done is to hit enter on the "get instance access" text.

I wish these squeeze pages were better built.

I did it if Firefox by:
1) going to the graphic that says:
Kevin Ellis, Certified Health Coach & Osteoporosis Thriver.
2) Pressing NVDA + enter.

I tried pressing enter on a get instant access control both in Brave
and Firefox and in both cases, I was placed in a form to enter
information and submit it.

Don't assume that you can't or shouldn't try things just because a
screen-reader doesn't identify some thing as clickable, a link, a
button, etc. If text makes sense to try to press enter on or use the
simulated mouse, in other words try different things, then try it.
Using the Internet to its fullest means not assuming your
screen-reader will tell you everything in terms of identifying every
control as a control. Try something if it is logical to do so and you think it is safe.

I cannot find where to click to register. Does such a place exist
or is it one of those screen reader invisible floating buttons?
In Firefox, I was able to press enter on any of the "get instant
access" non-buttons. It pops up an automatically-talking form to
fill in.

Sorry for the confusion as my subject should have been "An odd issue relating to Eloquence SAPI from Codefactory and NVDA.
I also just tried deactivating and reactivating which solved the problem but still is strange since prior til now, I had no issues.
