Hi, Gene,

I don't think it works inprograms like outlook and windows live mail but it does work in thunderbird. That's what I'm using.

I think it was Arleen who told us about it awhile back. I went into
keyboard settings and checked the box for skim reading. Try it and see
if it helps.

Re: getting the repeting of the subject line in an e-mail to stop repeting when you open a message

I haven't used skim mode and I haven't looked into what it does.  You can just use the read to end command if you wish whether you have skim mode checked or not.

Don't assume that extra steps are necessary when figuring out how to work around a problem.  you assumed that it was necessary to move to the top of the message and did an unnecessary command.  I'm pointing this out because you may have made inefficient and unsupported assumptions elsewhere and experimentation may allow you to do one or more things faster and more efficiently.

hello, thanks for your answer, but unfortunately it will not work in this situation.
it is'nt possible to go to the browse mode.
it is very difficult to explain, because it is a dutch programm.
to work with tab with controll don't work.
i'm already working with nvda for years, so there is enough experience so the regular trics i've already done but nothing helps.
to maximize, to try to go to the browse mode pressing spacebar plus nvda, don't work at all.
but thanks for your help!!!

Hi to every one,

Weather Plus bug report: by pressing nvda+shift+w.
This happens to those who have set the forecast up to 10 days.
To resolve the problem, reduce the days forecast to 9.
This morning seems to have been reduced the days of the forecast total, I
don't know if this thing is temporary, and will be reduced further, in that
case reduce these yet.
The problem has already been fixed and will be in the next upcoming update.
Thanks!

Hi Gary,

Are you sure you have set the correct city?
I say so because, often, WP find more than one city with the same name, all over the world.
So, probably if the information that you receive is not correct, this can be a cause of your problem.

Re: FW: [win10] Labeling tables with Nvda

Albert Ruel

Hi all.  I’ve just tested the below steps with both JAWS and NVDA.  I did this in MS Word 2013.

1.1       Use the Bookmark Feature to Have Row and Column Headers Read for JAWS Users

You can make Microsoft Word table headers read automatically for JAWS and MAGic keyboard users by adding bookmarks to the table with certain phrases. This is an accessibility and usability feature of JAWS that uses the bookmark feature of Word.

Open a table practice document to create row and column headers using the Bookmark feature in Microsoft Word.

1.2       To insert a Table in an MS Word document do the following:

1.     Place your Curser where you want the Table to appear.

2.     Open the Insert Menu and Tab to Table and press Enter.

3.     Using your Arrow keys move down and to the right to select the number of rows and columns for your Table, then press Enter to complete the task.

2          Tables with both Row and Column Headers:

To make row and column headers in tables accessible to users of JAWS 6.0 or later, start Microsoft Word and open the document containing the table.

2.1       If the table has both row and column headers:

list of 3 items

1. Place the insertion point in a cell where the row and column containing the headers meet.

2. Open the Insert menu (ALT+N) and choose Bookmark (K).

3. Type "Title" without the quotes and press ENTER.

list end

2.2       Tables with only Row Headers

1. Place the insertion point in any cell within the column containing the headers.

2. Open the Insert menu (ALT+N) and choose Bookmark (K).

3. Type "RowTitle" without the quotes and press ENTER.

2.3       Tables with only Column Headers

1. Place the insertion point in any cell within the row containing the headers.

2. Open the Insert menu (ALT+N) and choose Bookmark (K).

3. Type "ColumnTitle" without the quotes and press ENTER.

2.3.1     TIP: DO NOT PLACE A BOOKMARK IN EACH CELL THAT CONTAINS A HEADER. JAWS RECOGNIZES ALL CELLS IN THE MARKED ROW AND/OR COLUMN AS A HEADER.

3          Documents with Multiple Tables

Microsoft Word does not allow two bookmarks to use the same name. If there is more than one table in your document, add a number or descriptive word to

the end of the bookmark text used to indicate headers. For example:

Title_1

RowTitle_Revenue

ColumnTitle_Expenses

Hey all

I hope you all are doing well.

Does anyone know how to label columns in tables so that NVDA reads the title of the cell? If that makes any since.

Thanks.

Thank you

Hi Adriano,

For the past few days the weather information has not changed. I just wanted to let you know and to see if anyone else is having the same problem. Thanks,

Thanks!
Adriano

i'm searching for a solution.

P. Otter

hello all,
i'm searching for a solution it is as follows:
i have a programm, in dutch for family tree research.
nvda will open the fields without any problem.
but before the field you can read what kind of information you have to write there.
so as example there is a field called surname.
but surname as in this example will not be mentioned.
we only have an opened field.
but the most strange is, when we are using jaws, jaws will open the field and mention also the name.
what can i do with settings of nvda to read the name while opening the field?
is there a solution?
i've noticed that there are more examples where nvda opens a field but without mention the name of the field.
it is not in all situations but in some!!!
which is very inconvenient and annoying if you do not know what needs to be typed into that field.
is there a solution for it?
greets
paul otter
