for me but! Which program is tab and radio? I know several programs for listening of radio but I've never heard about tab and radio. Would you like to give me link to download and try it?

Thank you, Jamie, for all this. I've tried it, and writing "computer" in English US, grade 2 doesn't work, neither does using computer braille indicators, like 4-5-6, 3-4-6 to enter things like emoticons, although I guess that is a rather cheap way of getting around the ambiguity of US braille. Besides those little things though, input works wonderfully so far.

There may in fact be an attachment which you don't think of as one, but the
computer does.

The two commonest reasons for this are:

1. People who send emails with a "business card" style signature at the
bottom, giving their contact details - that is often attached to the email
using a format which can be imported into an address book application, or sent
to a mobile phone etc.

2. People who send emails in both plain text and HTML format - your email
client will be set to show you one of these by default, and often regards the
other one as an attachment, even though as far as you're concerned the content
is exactly the same.

I think this would probably need an app module to do this.
Often it depends on how the field descriptor is flagged to a screenreader.

i have a programm, in dutch for family tree research.
nvda will open the fields without any problem.
but before the field you can read what kind of information you have to write there.
so as example there is a field called surname.
but surname as in this example will not be mentioned.
we only have an opened field.
but the most strange is, when we are using jaws, jaws will open the field and mention also the name.
what can i do with settings of nvda to read the name while opening the field?
is there a solution?
i've noticed that there are more examples where nvda opens a field but without mention the name of the field.
it is not in all situations but in some!!!
which is very inconvenient and annoying if you do not know what needs to be typed into that field.
is there a solution for it?

Depends on your spellchecker, but certainly word allows you to put in custom words or special words if you want to, at least my old 2003 does and I think its called Add in most spellcheckers.

This is usually on a tree view to let you know where you are in the tree, sideways if you like, folders within folders etc.
You would be a bit confused if you turn it off and as long as you hear what you want you can just interrupt it with the next command in any case.

Most of te time even if its on it still does not read, and says something like info, one has to refresh the page. I'm wondering if this is a recent Firefox issue where it misses sending the I have finished alert. These lerts have a mind of their own....

Yes if you go into the Browse mode settings - NVDA+control+b - there is an
option for "Automatic say all on page load" which controls, you guessed it,
whether the page starts reading when it finishes loading. Uncheck that to
stop it. If you want it to do an automatic say all in some browse mode
programs but not others, you can setup separate configuration profiles for
different programs.

As well as Jacob's information about the location of the speech dictionary
itself, if you want to copy ALL your NVDA settings to move to a new
computer, you can create a portable copy (on say a memory stick) via the
NVDA Tools menu, move to the new computer, run the portable copy then from
NVDA's tools menu choose "install NVDA". Be sure to check "copy current
user configuration" when you make the portable version, and check "copy
portable version configuration" when you install on the new computer.

Can you import the exe file from 7 to your other machine and run that. I've just done this with wordpad to lose the ribbon menues and that seems to still work, though you need to have it in a different folder and run it from a shortcut.

I say so because, often, WP find more than one city with the same name, all
over the world.
So, probably if the information that you receive is not correct, this can be

On my computer, if I open the messages in a new tab, NVDA does not repeat the subject line. Repeating of subject line happens if the message is opened in a new window. So, I always open Thunderbird messages in new tab and close with Control + w.
