My take on this discussion is:
If you want to use Excel as a database, I fully agree because it is a wonderful tool, much better than Access. For wordprocessing, Word would be the better choice.

Unfortunately, many of the pdfs one gets today are untagged and have reading orders set to all worts of things so if columns do vary through the doc, whatever you do with the file will end up wrong

if you only need its content, you can open it with firefox.
write the last page number in the spin button which you can type.
then, a little waite and after that, copy all of your text and

Hi, sorry I’m late in this thread. I thought Excel was only used as a spread sheet not for documents. Yes, excel can be used with NVDA. I’ve seen it but only as a spread sheet.
