Next and Mail in Preview
The last few updates have not permitted the cursor to navigate in the message view of Mail. What changed? I can click on a message, but the caret is stuck there.

Yes shift+f10 simulates a right click but if i remember right it doesn't work in some situations maybe on the system tray I don't remember.

Ok dell was my last hope.
It was the only make I didn't try yet and I was hoping that they left the sound drivers alone.
The problem is that we won't know these types of problems unless if we try nvda

No you just need to be firm with where you buy it. Its the job of a few seconds for a sighted person normally, to go into the bios at boot up and change the settings of the function keys so fn needs

I'd agree, in fact next laptop I buy I'll stipulate they turn off all media function keys by default as I'm no concert pianist.
Beats is what the Dell had. Maybe its some 'enhancement' of some dubious

I've noticed this with A friends Dell, it clips off the end of things as if some kind of time limit or noise gate is in use.. I could only solve it with an external usb device as the driver seemed to

OH that's why I haven't noticed problems with mine: it's from 2011, and it's running the Windows soundcard whose name I can't remember off the top of my head. Thanks for letting us know

My hp from 2012 running windows 7 had sound problems.
It was running beats audio sound card with its own drivers.
At the end I had to disable the beats audio sound and enable the generic windows

Weird! I've been using NVDA for a bit over two years without sound problems on an HP Laptop running Windows7.

I don't know what is going on with laptop sound cards these days, but nvda doesn't seam to work well with some of them.

Well, I don't know about later operating systems but when I used to go around demonstrating screenreaders I had Supernova, window Eyes Jaws and Nvda all installed on an xp machine All limited deemos

In my experience you will have no trouble with both NVDA and Window-Eyes installed side by side. The main problem you will have is that the doubled speech can be confusing if they are actually running

More or less I think. I'm not sure which I prefer, all obj pad does is 2ds a 3D view which if all you are after is to find a particularly awkward control is fine. I do not know enough about the Jaws
