The problem with them is that most email clients and similar applications
can't tell whether the space and the next word are still part of the address,

Yes cos space is not a valid seperator in web addresses. Also the fact that its a number not a name is probably also a problem as in effect you are bypassing the nameserver look up for the site and

You might try pressing windows+X and going to the mobility center and
turning off the touchpad from there. That's what I did and I also have
a Dell laptop from the Inspiron line.
