Re: NVDA speaking even when it’s not loaded when there’s a problem with shut down
Good point Gene. I don't find it annoying and this is coming from a guy who went from XP to WIN 10 back in September 2015.

Mary. You can set it to 0, but the UAC can save your butt someday. I leave it at it's default.

The main dev is still alive and well. Michael Kurreen is sure working with Raif and Co. James Teh has moved on to the Mozilla Foundation.

Re: using form fields in word
hi,
Nothing ever came of the numerous bug reports I filed, so I have lost my motivation to persue this. I will fill out the form with a sighted person.

Re: using form fields in word
Hey,
jaws has defined keys in browse mode for edit fields, combo boxes and so on in MS word, but the fields are not recognized by the screen reader in such a manner that it could jump between them

If you highlight the drive then hit F2 then you can change the name/volume/label to whatever you want

Re: renaming a formatted thumb drive
Hi,
You change its' label. There is a DOS label command you can use or you can do it by changing it in the properties of the drive.

renaming a formatted thumb drive
hIHi list. I had a thumb drive become corrupted and I had to format it. How does one rename it? I’m senile. I tried not to do it but it wanted to be formatted. So I did it. How does one rename it

I missed the beginning of this thread, but for nearly twenty years I've just loved TotalRecorder. Even its video recording ability is pretty accessible and the documentation is superb. It has run on
