Re: Tips for speed reading /listening with screen readers
One thing I have found that helps a lot is using a high-quality speaker system, or good headphones.
I use a Big Jambox with my computer and the difference in intelligibility is substantial.

Hi,
I’ve wondered this too. Heavy Black Heart is how it is pronounced on Android phones as well. On the iPhone though, I believe it says correctly, Red Heart.
So it could be a speech synth

The question is, is there any way a sighted person can see visited links?
If yes and its in a way which can exist in the browse mode buffer, then I guess it could but I've read the info and suspect

Hi!
On the other hand, it's been out there long enough for screen reading technology to catch up, unless the new way still has inconsistencies, of course. Then it would be Microsoft's turn to fix

Actually, I don't think NVDA ever had an emoji dictionary, so any pronunciation oddity is probably the fault of the synthesizer. Though there is an emoji symbols dictionary floating around

This comes up now and then. In short, it's mostly left to the synthesizer to control the length of pauses. It is possible to change to some degree if you open the NVDA menu, go to preferences then
