Well I have had 2 units the first a intel i5 quad gen4 workstation had no issues.
The second a newer i5 gen 7 unit had no issues at all but after an intel system patch which was obviously wrong, I

In the meantime, a quicker way to change synthesizers is NVDA+control+s. Then either use the navigation keys or letter to jump to the desired syntehsizer and enter.

you can also try
radio receiver
it is a chrome app the developer tried it with nvda and all speaks it is what I am using now.
as far as sdrsharp I have a few work arounds but it is still a horible

Man, I take back what I said about having to start narrator to read the pane being annoying. Having to go in to NVDA menu, then preferences,, then settings, then speech, then change synthesizer just

NVDA+4 toggles speak command keys. That won't announce if you just press SHIFT and let it go, but it will announce "CONTROL+S" if you press those keys.
You can also access that option from the
