Hi David,
I can't notice much difference - it seems pretty snappy in all three versions (2018.3.2, beta1 and beta2). Are you using an add-on like the Mozilla app enhancements which might affect

Have you restarted the computer - not just closed the lid, but go to the Windows shutdown option and choose "restart".

Precisely.
I also don't know how to explain that we who see and are examining material in the IPA are not trying to read it, but are really using it to "sound it out."

Well, you could remove the entire addon and all files in your \users\username\roming\nvda\addons folder

Re: Please help me about Vocalizer
Where did you purchase the Vocalizer Voices? I bought mine from Code
Factory, and I too have had some issues with the voices not working.
I think mine was caused by my getting an update to Win 7.

The books are very reasonably priced, well done, worth every penny. I paid $23 US for the Word book and the Excel book.

The books on n v d a found on the;
Nvaccess.ort
Website are about one third the cost of those found on the
Blindtraining.com
Website.
Go to;
Nvaccess.ort/store and should find what you want.

Re: ergent help needed with phonetic transcriptions
The hopefully attached IPA dictionary was posted to this list quite a while ago. I don't think I ever got it to load, but maybe somebody can take a look at it and see if it works.

Yes, I can open those files from the documentation/en/ directory under c:/progam files (x86)/nvda/documentation/en/
What would you recommend if it is, indeed, a problem ofile association?

Can you open those files from the documentation/en directory? Windows does differentiate between local html files and online files (using the http protocol), so it could still be the file association

I took it for my singing class. It really does help with foreign languages or people who not speak. It is an amazing language and I hope to one day continue my studies in IPA
