Re: Reading parts of the cursor's line
Yes, I take your point. Again, JAWS handles this better because it has beginning and end of table cells.
All the best

Re: OK died in the wool JAWS user using NVDA
Jean,
If you are using a screen reader to do your job, the last thing you want is to have extra keystrokes just for reading Email.
There is this thing called efficiency, and JAWS has it more

Those commands are from an addon, they are not native from NVDA.

Wow I must say I didn’t know about those commands, and I thought I knew the NVDA command set pretty well.
Thanks.

Re: Problems With NVDA
Wow I disagree, especially if you are multi-tasking, or more accurately, task switching. 2GB isn’t enough with a screen reader.

What version of JAWS do you have and what Windows 10 apps doesn’t it work with?
I find JAWS works with Windows 10 apps better than NVDA.

Hi Chantelle
I don't think I've ever found 'background' in the time line. I'll go back and have a look this afternoon, it sounds really useful.
Yes, I really like your channel. I have subscribed

Hi.
Don't have anything to do so, ask as much as you like.
Well, you can read what you have written, even when you opened the
project again.
Just go to your timeline again and press your arrow keys

So just where is this lengthy thread taking us? Where can it possibly go? Surely the jaws users would be better served on a jaws list.
Cheers.

Hello Chantelle
OK. Thank you. I don't want to ask you too many questions, so I will
limit myself to one question a day. I'm sure you've got other things to
do instead of all this good

32 bit Windows can't see more than something like 3.8 gb of ram. For most people using 32bit Windows, they would never use that much RAM. You can check how much RAM you are using and I believe there

Re: Reading parts of the cursor's line
Hi Robert
Assuming desktop keyboard layout, try switching on "Caret moves review cursor" (NVDA+6 on number row), then use numpad 7, 8 and 9 keys alone to read previous, current and next lines.

I'd use the one that is free and performs very well. There is such a thing as being fanatically demanding, expecting a screen-reader to do everything perfectly. I've seen others engage in this sort

These are all things that a screen reader really should have by default, and why I am surprised that NVDA, developed by blind people, doesn’t.
