I also get this but put it down to the same issue like open an Explorer window and nvda will not register its open yet it is open as cursor down brings it to life. Same goes sometimes in web sites not

I tried the various find commands on i.e. chrome thunderbird and all work fine, perhaps a add-on is causing a problem with others. Try running nvda in no add-ons.

Summary: when using alt tab to get from program to program, nvda will sometimes not an-ounce the program O'm on when holding alt and hitting tab

Control Panel, Power Options, then Change Plan Settings link for whichever plan you happen to have active at the moment. This will bring up the options for turning off the display and sleep. You

I don't know if I got it right, however if what you want is stay in a mode until or unless you change it yourself, I strongly believe that it's configurable into NVDA settings.

Thank you so much for your help. It worked, NVDA is more responsive. I still hear some choking but nothing like before and I have not had to restart NVDA.
