I think though as we have no idea which accessibility api is in use in a given piece of software, the problem may well be due to one or more of the others not UIA.

No you cannot go back that far. I was merely postulating that the effect might well be missed events of one sort or another by nvda for, as yet reasons unknown.

I will also point out that Window-eyes had the ability to change and
stay in any given mode, as well as the ability, (not by just changing
cursors) to at least query the system and see if browse mode
