I think if you are a 7 user you will have seen it as on one update a while back the machines temp home page was changed to the warning about this without anybody asking. I guess they are entitled to

Yes and for some daft reason Microsoft keep suggesting repurposing alt tab, which would be a biiiiiig mistake for accessibility unless one could turn the new option

I just let the team know.they responded right away to me over twitter with some steps. I have followed said steps and they are now trying to solve the issue.

Apologies, I misread the post, I thought the registry hack to get POS ready updates wasn't stated in the original message for some reason, but yes, those updates have or will be dropped this year.

Actually I think that registry hack gave you updates for Windows Embedded POS Ready, a version of XP that is primarily used in ATMs and the like, which is I think still being supported but will itself
