Happens to me as well, at times, and seems like edge keeps on trying to take back control of protocol types, etc.
As in, while, maybe an htttp link will still open with either firefox, or chrome,

A good example is Windows 10’s Settings app (Windows+I) where you do need to use object navigation to read descriptions of settings.

into windows that is easy enough to do, but you might have to tab around
