I don’t think NVDA can do that because I don’t think Windows knows about the braille display. The only reason Windows doesn’t go to sleep for speech is because it’s running through the sound

Just throwing an idea here, but shouldn't NVDA be able to reach Windows to tell it "no, keep running, we're still doing stuff" when pressing the Braille panning keys? I guess most of us

Sure. That's the beauty of these cards. You can set your default to your internal card then hit nvda control s to get to the synth dialogue and choose what card you want to the synth to come through.

Hi, just catching up with mail, but yes You can do this without any problem. You will just have to tell Nvda to use the usb head set, and don't forget to save the settings.

Thank god I use waterfox classic which is using the tried and tested accessible engine then.
Maybe firefox/ waterfox current with the quantum engine is not ready for me to bother with

Yes, I’ve hit this as well. Just make sure the power plan is high performance, or that nothing can cause the computer to sleep. If the screen saver or sleep activates, then this would occur. The
