In which mode are you in?
Pressing the insert key + 5 on the numeric key pad does nothing.
But if you use the number 5 on the numeric keypad by its self on a word it if pressed 2 times will

I don't know what is causing the problem. But using a different command should solve it. You should be able to have the word you are on in the document spelled by just pressing numpad 5 by itself.
