I just looked at what you are discussing. It is either not specified to be an Aria live region or it is sset to off. I don't hear any text spoken when it changes, though I can read the line

Sometimes single words are repeated, but most notably the first few words of most sentences are omitted, and NVDA picks up reading from the middle of the third or fourth word.

I don't know what is causing the problems. Try a different synthesizer. I don't know what voices are available to you but you should be able to test with e-speak. If you want to hear the article

I am also experiencing the same problem, NVDA doesn’t read in chrome and firefox, but it reads in Microsoft edge. It is really a strange thing.

Well I'd check that you have the latest versions of chrome and edge and components of your brousers in about:components.
Components update all the time.
