I have uninstalled and reinstalled the quick key folder navigation add on and my issue where the checkbox to use it becomes unchecked after you close the program still

I don't know the answer to that question.
However I do know, that some installers, when run as a non-admin user who then has to elevate using a password, do not work correctly.

re-enable the extension every time I bring up Thunderbird.
