There has been a new version of this available since the day of introduction of the latest Thunderbird. Unfortunately, there does not exist something in Thunderbird that is akin to Add-On Updater

I'm not sure what problem you are having. When I use autocomplete, that is type something like a name in the field, I can down arrow through the available addresses and they are read. Also, the part

The following is a workaround.
Go to the editable field, and you will be able to read it with ctrl left and right arrows, press enter to be able to edit it.

I think I have that issue , but i just up and down arrow to find the one tone as the list will rap.
