Re: Word 2016
Kelby
I find it hard to remember exactly what I did to fix the problem. However, I did reinstall Office 2016 and after that the problem went away. Not a very satisfactory explanation I’m afraid.

Re: Reading command prompt
Tyler,
The problem with turning of character echo is that when I work on the commandline, I like to hear the characters I type so we still need a real fix for this problem.

Re: Reading command prompt
I'll have more of a look into this. In the meantime, you can set up a configuration profile just for there command prompt which has speak topped characters and words turned off so you can have those

Re: Reading command prompt
This is normal.
To fix it, turn off character and word echo.

Have you called the Microsoft disability answer desk (1-800-936-5900)? I found them to be extremely helpful.

Re: Word 2016
I still haven't had any luck figuring this out. I pretty much can't
read any Word documents at this point.

Re: deleting file from downloads folder closes the downloads folder window
Well, I have found that if I open the downloads folder and then using the ribbons click on the delete or delete permanently buttons it works as expected and does not close the folder.

Re: deleting file from downloads folder closes the downloads folder window
Odd, do you ever use file explorer for other things (press Windows+e) and have you noticed any other issues?
Also which version of Windows are you running? I'm using Rhett latest fast insider bold

Re: Scrambled speech in console windows
Thank you very very much, this was the solution for me.
Interesting that output should appear in those channels.

Hi Quinton,
Actually, I am talking about the downloads folder in the "this pc". I don't have any trouble with my browser which is also the latest update to Firefox.

Make sure speak typed characters and speak typed words are off, then try again.

I have no solution, but I've experienced something similar when using mIRC. At random it will start speaking several lines of text way before the current position and it will not always
