Re: Question regarding a function of resource monitor addon
Hi,
If you are using Windows 8 or later, my guess is that fast startup is at play here. Can you confirm that uptime goes back to zero days after restarting your PC?
Cheers,
Joseph

Re: Using NVDA and Number Pad on laptop
Hi Brian, thanks for your help. It’s in Acer aspire three if that’s of any help. It has a compact number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard.

I won't say that NVDA is not at play here, because it could be, but ALT+F4 is not an NVDA command, and not tied to NVDA in any way. It's a Windows command that the program window with focus when it's

I don't have outlook installed on my computer. I am using the latest version of Thunderbird as my Email client. Thunderbird is the only Email client I have installed and use.

Re: Using NVDA and Number Pad on laptop
Having the exact make and model would be helpful.
As a general statement, you want your function keys to act as function keys if you are a screen reader user, so if they have any sort of "media keys"

Re: beta 3 and closing programs
Did you close Outlook While the beta was installed, then install an earlier version and not Open outlook before doing so or after for a time? that is the test I had in mind.

Re: Question regarding a function of resource monitor addon
Hi Gene,
Even I used to think this but my uptime currently is at around thirty
days and I am sure that I did shut down my PC this month. I don't
understand how can this happen.

Using NVDA and Number Pad on laptop
Hi all, I have recently been using a very low-cost laptop which had only the basic keys. I have just moved to a higher spec model which has a compact NumPad. The keyboard doesn’t have a home or end

Re: beta 3 and closing programs
I have uninstalled the beta 3 and gone back to NVDA 2020-3 and the issue is resolved with no new email announcements coming with thunderbird closed. Would appear that the beta is the issue.

Re: beta 3 and closing programs
Perhaps the beta is announcing information from elsewhere. Try closing Thunderbird while the beta is running. Then switch to an earlier version. See if you hear announcements in the earlier version.

It means the amount of time the system has been running since your last reboot or restart. I would think if you put the system in sleep or hibernate, that is counted as uptime, since you haven't shut
